Retro are a Nintendo studio, they are first party.

They develop first party games in the sense that the games are available only for one system, but they are not first party. Quote Wikipedia all you want, it won't make Rare 1st party, to Nintendo or Microsoft.

You can deny it all you want, they are a Nintendo first party studio, this common knowledge. Nintendo is the first party since they make the console, and Retro is part of Nintendo.
