Well that solves that dilemma.

in the same day as who have 3DS and Wii U SSB, or later?

It seems to be later, but it isn't confirmed yet.

Finally, we can put the nonsense to rest

Available for purchase later huh? So much for "no plans for paid DLC yet"".

Still getting him for free. And those 2 Smash Bros Soundtracks. For Free.

Hard to please everyone. They try to reward the people who bought both games they get attacked for people only buying one copy not being able to have MewTwo.

Now they make him available to everyone else but for a price obviously, and they get attacked for having paid DLC.

Can't really win.

They clearly have no plans for any other premium paid DLC, so the only reason this one exists is to keep everyone happy.

I stand (pleasantly) correct by Nintendo then. I think this is a better move to be honest, I don't think people should be forced to buy both versions if they really don't want one of them. Hopefully the paid version releases alongside or not too long after the bonus version.

I never believed Mewtwo would stay exclusive to those who bought both games. That would be a lot of work only available to a few people, and leaving too many other pissed.

Also, Nintendo is handling DLC wisely. Instead of taking the microtransaction route of $5 for Mewtwo, $3 for this, $4 for that, etc., it's rolling DLC into nice packages that are easy to follow for reasonable prices. When companies start selling piecemeal content and nickel and diming with DLC, that's when consumers start feeling gipped.
