Why would they care? Views and sales obviously have a correlation, and besides, it's not like we would ever find out that they're "misleading" us.

But views =/= sales(purchases) so it would most likely be that people are actually purchasing the fake PS4s, but then is this happening to such a degree that it overshadows everything else going on simultaneously? Probably not. Besides, simply look at the best sellers for 2014, it updates daily, wouldnt it be far more reliable? http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2014/videogames/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsar |
I'm not saying that the PS4 got no boost from FC4 and LBP3 and GTAV. I'm simply saying that we can't know what comes from the scams and what is normal.
Far more reliable for what? Sales in November? No. Sales in 2014? Yes.

I'll also inform you that the PS4 has never ever been that high on the hourly list, not even at launch. Yeah, sure, I bet there's a few Americans that are stupid enoung to go for it, or foodfather is correct and the list is based visitors of a certain item, or perhaps how many that put an item in their basket. It just takes common sense to understand that the PS4 can't possibly be doing this on it's own. |
It was #1 a bunch of times.....

Last part was a mistake, it has since been redacted.
But the simple explanation for why views wouldn't affect that Amazon list is this. The PS4's position did drop in the first couple of months after release due to low stock, in despite of high demand. High demand would suggest high page views especially with people check to see if it was in stock. If it was affected by views it would've remained in place.
If its ranking moves up, unless they changed the algorithm in the last year, then it is most likely because of purchases either bogus or legit. Whether they only count fufilled sales, in that the bogus ones also wouldn't count is another story entirely.

I don't really care if it's based on views or sales, it doesn't matter, cause the ranking is oviously inflated by the scams. Do you agree?

Not really. Have you ever tried to sell something on the internet? You could get 1000 views and no purchases.
Amazon says it themselves:
"Amazon Best Sellers

I never said it was based on views, I said it is a possibility. It could also be based on how many times something is added to the cart, or it could be when the actual order has gone through. If it's the latter then there obviously are quite a few idiots that think they managed to snag a PS4 for 80 bucks.

It is simply a matter of degree, which conviently is impossible to discern. The only real confirmation we'll get is in December.

It has now, it just took awhile for it to take effect. Xbox One standard edition is up 1,146% to #15 thanks to bogus listings. |
Not sure if it is bogus. The lowest price is $315 Kinectless and used.
Used Kinectlesses range in the $320's.
I would defenitly call it out if it was claimed new.
The point is, if it undercuts Amazon and it claims to be new, it's most likely a scam.
