But that seems a tad misleading to base their sales ranking based solely off views wouldn't you say?

Why would they care? Views and sales obviously have a correlation, and besides, it's not like we would ever find out that they're "misleading" us.

Not really. Have you ever tried to sell something on the internet? You could get 1000 views and no purchases.

Amazon says it themselves:

"Amazon Best Sellers

Our most popular products based on sales. Updated hourly.

What is a sale? When an order is made. Or when a product is shipped and charged to the customer. Either way you're wrong. Views don't matter one bit. Sales do. If you think I'm wrong them go to the Ouya product page here http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-64-System-Video-Game-Console/dp/B00002DHEV/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1416374530&sr=1-1&keywords=nintendo+64&pebp=1416374531571

Refresh that product page a couple million times and see what happens.(Nothing)

GOOD LUCK!

I never said it was based on views, I said it is a possibility. It could also be based on how many times something is added to the cart, or it could be when the actual order has gone through. If it's the latter then there obviously are quite a few idiots that think they managed to snag a PS4 for 80 bucks.
