No, quite deffinetly not.

Yes, it did. Or people were stupid enough to "buy" a PS4 for $90 from a 3rd party seller with no positive feedback and wont' be getting what they paid for. I don't know what Amazon's refund policy is for 3rd party sellers though.

Keep thinking that

I'll also inform you that the PS4 has never ever been that high on the hourly list, not even at launch. Yeah, sure, I bet there's a few Americans that are stupid enoung to go for it, or foodfather is correct and the list is based visitors of a certain item, or perhaps how many that put an item in their basket. It just takes common sense to understand that the PS4 can't possibly be doing this on it's own.

You're wrong. Last year ps4 stayed at #1 for long periods of time before and after launch. Only time it fell was when Amazon ran out of stock. I know cause I was monitoring it every day last year as was lots of other ppl.

Exactly. Plus I thought ppl were just getting this priced matched at stores like Wal-Mart since its obviously a scam and no one would sell a ps4 for only $90, which would give the Wal-Mart stores the sale, not Amazon. So wouldn't that mean that it got to #1 on its own the past few hours?

No, quite deffinetly not.

But according to the article I just read on kotaku, they describe it as scam accounts that post the $90 ps4 listings that let you "add" it to your cart, then take a screenshot and show it to Wal-Mart to get the price match.

So if anything, the ps4 is moving up on Wal-Mart's best sellers list since that's where these sales are going to. Not Amazon. Ps4 is just seeing it's normal holiday return to the top of the charts like last year on Amazon. That's my hypothesis anyway.

What if either:

a) Idiots try to buy these scam offers

or

b) foodfather is correct in that the charts don't reflect sales, but reflect the amount of vies a particular item gets, or how many times people add it to their cart.

Then why the xbone had an increase of ~1200%? (Answer:Scam)

Yep, I was wrong, apparently it was also on top in march. That doesn't change the fact that the PS4 DEFFINETLY did not randomly get to #1 coincidentally at the same time as these scams started to appear.

There should be no doubt about the PSN cards selling good. That doesn't mean that the chart can't be based on the amoun of view a certain item gets. You know, to buy those PSN cards you have to view them first.

But that seems a tad misleading to base their sales ranking based solely off views wouldn't you say?

But views =/= sales(purchases) so it would most likely be that people are actually purchasing the fake PS4s, but then is this happening to such a degree that it overshadows everything else going on simultaneously? Probably not.
