Forums - Sales - PS4 boosted to #1 on Amazon with $49-$89 pricings.

This does show however just how much people want a PS4. If not then why are we not seeing this same tactic being used for discounted XBox Ones and/or WiiUs?

The weird thing is, that some1 is using this cheap ass tactic on a PS4
That's dumb. Just go for more expensive stuff like a 65inch first class TV

At least we know some PS4 fans brought up this stuff :D

Thankfully this is proof that these amazon lists are just based on hits, not actually purchases.

Hits? As in page views? LOL No they're not.

It's called Best-SELLERS for a reason.

You completely missunderstood what he said.

Those aren't sales because if they are fraud, they will be refunded and never shipped.  A hit is a Buy Now Click, not an actual shipment.

no.

I gut why certain people hold amazon charts in such high regard ''PS4 no.1 on amazon'' pretty much makes up 99% of the threads in the charts forum. I'm not downplaying PS4 sales here in any way, just saying people hold the charts in way too high of a regard for actual sales.

Dont expect many people here to listen for the obvious reasons.

(didn't want to play this card) but conveniantly, I do actually know someone who works for amazon, based in india, this is what his team does all day and night, track hits. Not whats being put into baskets and certainly not whats being purchased.

To me foodfather is implying is based on website clicks.

To clear up confucsion, this is what I am ''implying''. Up to you lot to believe it or not.

But that is no new stuff. Games that only can be preodered are in the top 100
If u place ur oder, it is counted. i just doens't matter, if the ship or not

It's ridiculous that Amazon can allow its best seller lists to be manipulated like that.

Ok, for the people that dont believe amazon charts are not 100% based on sales, wait a couple of days, I guarantee you will not hear anything on the news about ''mass amounts of gamers buy fake PS4 listings''.

Sully1331 answered his own question. Everybody and their cats knows not to buy from new & suspicious listings on amazon.

There will be no refunds because nobody brought them, its just based on site hits. Guaranteed.

Oh, so XBO hasn't been outselling the PS4 for the first week or so of Nov?  Good to know, lol.

Since the famous Drill "globally in the US", I have never laugh so much reading a thread. I can't even tell who is trolling or who is serious.

I guess my comments were bound to be turned into a system war somehow...

Proof (kinda)

http://rickfrishman.com/a-few-sales-tricks-can-launch-a-book-to-top-of-online-lists/

''Suzanne Falter-Barns sent me the eight-page journal of her own personal Amazon Day, as she calls the time an email campaign sent her book to No. 8 on the list. (“Life is good, I think, as I watch the sun rise over Lake Champlain,” she wrote of learning she was an online best-seller.)''

I've seen it a couple times in the last weeks and its in the OP of this thread as well, so I thought I could clear this up in case people are misunderstanding this: The percentage an object has risen in the Movers & Shakers chart has nothing to do with the actual sales increase, the percentage shows the rank increase.

Don't believe me? Try it yourself, the percentage is calculated using this equation: ((old rank/new rank)-1)*100%

So PS4 sales did not increase 1400% in the last 4 hours.

It was just used for the Wii U like 2 days ago when there was an accidental $60 listing. Its most likely what inspired this scam.

That's entirely different from what I am talking about. The WiiU listing was a store error.

This is, like you said, inspired by that listing error. The thing is though, people are only using this tactic to get PS4 on the cheap and not for the other two consoles.

With the WiiU were people making fake listing to then try and get it price matched or did they just take advantage of a Sear's screwup?
