Also someone better tell Capitalism that it's not about winning, but feeling good about what you have.

Microsoft and EA aren't good at the game of capitalism. They don't believe in naturally being better than their opponents. They create artificial advantages to even pose a threat. They are testament to the idea that the second place company truly wins if they have more money simply by buying out the competition or buying real estate around them until they submit or consumers lose interest. EA's deal with the NFL is one of the most evil and desperate acts in the history of videogames and I see why they are considered one of the worst companies in America. Microsoft needs to be watched like a hawk though, that parity clause of theirs is truly terrible. They need to stop creating artificial advantages and just try to beat Sony straight up.

I kind of see your point, but, when your console has disadvantages you have to do things to give them value. Stuff like MS's third party deals? Perfectly okay. Taking away games that would have been on PS4 like Tomb Raider, not so cool. MS has been working overtime to please their current base too, which is good. Hopefully, they can work with 343 to iron out those kinks in the Halo collection soon. Sony would take the same measures if they had the cash to blow.
It is kind of troubling to wonder how far MS will go to crash the market when they're not ahead though. Phil Spencer's not just saying he wants to make Xbox One proiftable anymore, he says he wants to win. As in gain marketshare back by any means necessary. All last gen, I wondered why the price on the 360 always seemed to stay so high until they reacted to a Sony price drop. Now with X1, the price has dropped sharply since the introduction. If MS can turn the box into a near charity whenever it's threatened, then what's the use of competitng?
I kind of understand why Sony doesn't want to get into a price war with them now, since they can throw a nuclear tantrum and keep dropping the price to get an edge.
