If you ask me what color a car is I will not waste my time on semantics to point out that black is not a color.

If we are discussing the use of color in a picture and you list 'black' among the colors you see, I will correct you. This thread is not about cars, it is about colors in an artistic sense.

Precisely because of artistic sense, black is considered a colour.

Grey isn't a color either. It's actually a color without color.

I do the same thing. I am a car salesman and everytime I ask people what color car they want to buy and they say black I just have to correct them.

You don't say! What is its wavelength? I want to find it on the visible spectrum.

I hope you're not serious and you simply ignored the bolded statement. Dealing with someone so contrarian would not make me more keen on buying a car. Though I wouldn't want to buy a black car to begin with, those things get way too hot from all the light they're not reflecting.

Saying "the color of that car is black" is the same thing as saying "this picture has the colors black, grey, yellow, red,...".

I think most people mean "colorful", as short of "imaginative", "inspired", and "creative", which honestly it's the exact opposite of most AAA games nowadays. Saying that a game is bad just because it doesn't have enough color would be a very stupid complain. (Even though I agree with them in some degree, I mean, Gears of War's color palette makes me want to puke.)

Context is important. Semantics of what a color is are irrelevant when discussing car models. Semantics of what a color is are quite important when discussing the colors and lack thereof in a picture. Specifically, countering a complaint that a picture lacks color with "but it has black" is nonsensical.

The artists did their job then.
