The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

DS / Nintendo / 2009
Guessed by KLXVER

This is a game that gets a lot of undeserved hate from the Zelda fanbase and it's something that bugs me. When I played the DS titles in the series, I have to say I really enjoyed them and I felt like they were much, much better than what people make them out to be - but while Phantom Hourglass suffered from a couple of terrible flaws that kept holding the game back, Spirit Tracks was awesome and enjoyable throughout. The dungeons, items and bosses are on par with the already stellar ones it's predecessor had (and maybe even better in several ways), but the game also boasts an incredible soundtrack and a much more compelling world in New Hyrule, as well as a story you can truly care about and a fantastic beginning and ending. Spirit Tracks was truly special.

If we weren't friends already, I'd send you a request this minute!

I love Spirit Tracks! What really sets it apart, I think, is the role of Zelda. In the game, she is very much an equal partner to Link. And it's this partnership that makes Spirit Tracks such a special game, in terms of story and gameplay. I'd even go so far as to say that the version of Princess Zelda in Spirit Tracks is the best in the series.

Now, you're taking it too far. RE5 was good but still not as good as RE4.

It was, for me at least.

Really? The AI? The inventory system? The scares? The story?

The story, characters, well-done offline co-op, superb replayability, huge amount of weaponry and secrets to find, refined Mercenaries mode, the even more refined Mercenaries Reunited mode, and one of the most polished and interesting DLCs in ages. (Even if it was veeeeeeeery short.)

While I liked Leon a lot, never cared much about the villain, Krauser or Ashley, and while there weren't that many moments, I never liked babysitting Ashley much (thankfully she's almost absent at the second half of the game). RE4 doesn't feature co-op. It's also less fluid than RE5 (understandable because it was an older game, but that's the reason why I value the sequel more too).

New clues !!!!

16. - Chapter one: Today, I punched a Stalker so hard it turned inside out. End of chapter one.

15. - The first entry in this multi decade running series that allowed for character changes including one who climbed on walls and the ceiling.

#15 = Castlevania 3?

It sure is

#15 - A great NES game the US never got

There are probably a few that fits here, so here's a random guess: Final Fantasy III

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Nintendo 64 / Nintendo / 1998
Guessed by KLXVER

I think we all know this game will be topping a lot of lists and it's also very likely to be the overall #1 in the end, but I feel like Ocarina of Time is really overrated... nowadays. I can absolutely tell how mindblowing this title probably was back in 1998, and the impact it had on the whole gaming industry was enormous, but as someone who played this for the first time this decade, I have to say it falls short of my current expectations from a game. In fact, this game was the reason why I thought 3D Zelda games just weren't for me, because I just couldn't enjoy it at the beginning and the other ones were supposed to be worse according to most people. However, I kept forcing myself to go back to it and try to find the masterpiece that everyone talks about, and thankfully I did find it after the third dungeon. From that point on, this game suddenly became incredibly amazing and easily one of the best games ever - but I just can't ignore the long, boring beginning.

It's a good thing we're friends...

Hint for the game #15:

"And we keep driving into the night

It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye."

Max Payne?

The second one. Wright, like always.

One of my favorite scenes in the game

Nice Job!  I thought I would for sure have to give at least 1 more clue.  SUch an amazing game and soundtrack.

The co-op is the biggest reason why I dont like it. The game feels more like COD than RE. There are some cool aspects to the game, like Albert Wesker and the location, but the AI is horrible and I dont want co-op in horror games. It takes away what little scares the game might have had. The controls works great in RE4 because the game was designed around them. In RE5 they just feels clunky because its more of an action game and Dead Space showed what building on the RE4 controls could be. To me Dead Space is RE5 Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine are the most boring characters in RE history. They have zero personality.

RE5 is the most disappointing game ever for me. Even RE6 is way better.

Yes, I agree on that too. Resident Evil 6 is better than Resident Evil 4, but not RE5. :P
