Forums - Nintendo - Amiibo figures can only hold information for one game at a time

Kind of sucks, though not that big of a deal yet.

Will you be able to transfer the amiibo data to your WiiU when overwriting/erasing to store it for later use? If that's possible, all one needs to do is 'load' up their amiibo for the appropriate game.

This sounds like good news, not sure what other people are reading?

At E3 they mentioned that new amiibos could come from other games, and from what's on the OP seems like you can erase the SSB portion of the current sold Link amiibo and maybe use it on Zelda U with write capabilities (instead of having to buy a new ZeldaU Link amiibo).

I think the reason people see it as bad news is cause we thought it woudl work on Smash AND Zelda U without needing to erase.

But I highly doubt many games even use the save feature.  I see most features of Amiibo as just scan and get unlockable, such as its being used in Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart.  no saving required.

(re-using post) Amiibos aren't confined to SSB, supposedly there are more to come with significant features (write/save features).

According to an IGN interview with Takahashi and Miyamoto, each game would have its own set of amiibo figures, but those figures can also be used in other games and may have limited functionality in the other games. How this works remains to be seen.

The limited SSB functionality (read features) are the compatible features we are seeing for the other games (unlock weapons, skins).

Is there even gonna be another game that uses it's save data?

That seemed to be the promise of these things, but now it seems nintendo wants you to buy multiple mario figures or link figures if you want to use their primary function in future games.

I'm fine with this. For now, only Smash bros writes data on Amiibo. So I can use 2 of mine for Smash + unlocking DLC in other games, while another amiibo in a different game + unlocking stuff . Or just, forget about Smash amiibo and use it for something else.

Either way, this is not a problem for me.

Of course you are, never mind the fact that nintendo made it seem like you wouldn't need to buy more than one mario figure, etc. This is such a scam it's unbelievable.

Yea no idea, thinking of pretty much every nintendo game i can, I can't see them using save data.  Just see them using it like Mario Kart/Hyrule Warriors.

Basically you get an unlockable of some sort for plopping them in.

The only game I can think of is like Pokemon type games.  Like Pokemon Rumble, where they already have like amiibo's that you get for it.  So maybe a pokemon colliseum or something?  I don't know.

I'm fine witht his one save thing.  It's not really needed in smash, so if something comes out better usage I'll easily switch.   I mean I can just switch to using lvl 9 CPU's if I want to play 8 player smash, no amiibo's needed.

Really?  That was the only way I saw them being used.  I thought in Hyrule Warriors you could summon an ally that would help take over part of the map while you go to the other side, I thought in Mario Kart it would have an AI that adapted and got better like in Smash.  I never thought it would just unlock a costume or a weapon, which btw used to given just for pre-ordering a game.

I used to think the Shulk figure would add Shulk to your party in Xenoblade Chronicles X, but now I'm thinking its just gonna add some kind of shulk outfit for your main character.

Yea exactly. People happy with some unlockable crap from this are deluded fanboys.
