What I've said and what you mention make significant differences.  There's no illusion except maybe the combat scenes not mattering until the end.  Those differences make a much bigger difference and plenty of them aren't in the final scene (whether that's 1 or 2 or 3 scenes before the finale is inconsequential).  The other 4 trials still are abandonable.  No illusion to me I still love replaying it and seeing all the different ways each scene plays out.

There's no difference from what you said and what I mention.

You can replay The Walking Dead and see how all different ways each scene plays out.

As I said, Heavy Rain features different endings, but that's it. Your only consequential choices are the endgame ones, which are the ones I've listed. Everything else is ilusion of choice.

Mass Effect 2. I didn't really appreciate its characters, story or universe the first time. Playing it after playing Mass Effect 3 (to import my Shepherd and ideal choices and start 3 all over again) made it sooo much better. I even got all the DLC (first time I spent money on DLC). It made my second play through of Mass Effect 3 much better as well (with all the DLC too). 1080p60 also helped.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I recently made my first full revisit of Yoshi's Island after decades and now I realise I'm very critical of many aspects of that game.

I think, like you(OP), having a completionist mindset could be the issue. With some games I never care about collecting everything, but some games I do. For some reason I feel a strong desire to 100% every level in yoshi's island and that's when problems with the game really occur.

Having to stomp down every wooden peg and collect every coin encase you miss a hidden red coin, along with the risk of losing stars (which can force a replay of the level if you're near the goal) it all slows down the pace dramatically and ruins the experience.

I do wonder if my lack of satisfaction with the game is why every subsistent Yoshi game has failed to come close to matching my childhood memories. Here's hoping Woolly World surpasses the original.

I liked Super Mario Galaxy 2 the first time I played it. I ended up falling madly in love with it after finishing it the second time. A masterpiece.

I was completely shattered by Wind Waker when It came out it felt like the biggest let down coming from Oot and MM. I learned to love it though still not even close to my favorite Zelda but much better than it was when I first played it.

Galaxy 2 was the same way. First play through I was kinda meh but the second one made me realize how good it was. Galaxy 1 still miles better imo.

Demon Souls.

First time, I had no idea what I was doing and I kinda really sucked. I couldn't make it past Tower Knight (or whatever his name was) which was like, 1-2 or something like that.

Then a friend gave me a tip to just be a lame-ass mage, so I did and I beat the game and loved it. I plan to play Dark Souls at some point, not as a lame-ass mage, but for now, I'm just happy I beat Demon Souls.

Ocarina of Time: First time I played it, I loved it. Immediately after that I noticed how bad the script was.

Majora's Mask: First time I was so busy getting things done I really didn't notice a lot. It wasn't until my third playthrough that I settled down and started to enjoy it.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for GameCube
Such a beautiful game.
