If you made all the reserved posts you needed, why would you need the thread to get locked? At that point it's impossible for troublemakers to post between your reserved posts anyway.

The best way to go about this is to write in the headline what the thread is going to be about (along with a "do not post yet") and write at least a placeholder OP to let people know what they can expect, that gives them something to read and prevents them from posting questions that can already be answered with said OP. Once the thread is up, you get in your reserved posts within a minute or two, remove the "do not post yet" from the thread title and update the reserved posts whenever you please.

I think I did it wrong...
