To be fair, I didnt buy them myself, I was still a wee boy tapping away on my dads PC, my dad had won a large claim after a near lethal accident and decided to invest in my future so asked me to pick a company, i was too young to understand so i just pointed at our computer, so he bought 8500 shares in microsoft and 1000 in apple.

and thats a hell lot of a difference in stock price.

and everyone who bought shares before 1990 is a lucky bastard. msft is the best alltime stock in % increase if u count splits and divideds.

yeah. but as i said. a whole lot of a difference. make it 15 years and u payed 60 bucks per share

i would only sell, if u see the dow crashing like 2008. and if it will crash. buy msft again for 16 bucks :D

Tbh, I might sell up anyway, stocks can and most likely will raise in future, but i figure i can cut and run now , id still have my other stocks in several other companies for rainy days.

May as well spend it while im still young enough to enjoy it.

do u own 8500 shares now, or did u bought 8500 shares back in 1988? because if so, ur account would be 50million heavy (excluding dividends)

must be the first one, because u said 0.35 a share. msft was never that cheap. its is just shown, because of the 9 splits

just a result of the splits, by the time i was old enough to understand it all, it had already gone through multiple splits, so i just go off of current.

Give them the benefit of the doubt, if they are lying, no real gain comes out of it.
