Forums - Gaming - I don't want Bethesda to make Fallout 4

I feel the exact opposite. I found Fallout 3 to be much more enjoyable. New Vegas felt rushed and empty in comparison. The only things that I thought were an improvement were the companion wheel and the poorly implemented idea of factions.

I have zero faith in anything Obisidian makes, especially after their lackluster sequel KOTOR2. That thing was a complete turd. New Vegas isn't as bad, but I still think it's an inferior game.

You're a bad person.

You're a very bad person.

Hopefully Bethesda fixes their buggy engine before Fallout 4. The issues with their games have little or nothing to do with consoles or pc builds.

Wow, you just insulted two of the best RPGs ever made. It's like saying Super Mario Galaxy is a bad platformer, or Half-life is a lackluster shooter.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I want them to make it, but i DONT want it to be cross gen, just so theres no excuse for shoddy graphics.

You realize that Fallout New Vegas has more content than Fallout 3 right?

That doesn't matter if the content isn't intriguing.

KOTOR2 was awful.....  New Vegas was ok, but far from a top rpg imo.

I just loved the fact they switched to First Person for Fallout, but Fallout 3 was too gritty for me. I liked the campy feeling of New Vegas.

Bet with Xander XT:

Me!

Saying one was more buggy than the other is kind of puzzling since they had mostly the same bugs. New Vegas was simply built over the skeleton of Fallout 3. I put hundreds of hours into each one and had basically the same experience with bugs and crashes. Many glitches were exactly the same between both.

As for which is better, that's mostly a personal preference. New Vegas was superior in some ways but many of those improvements should be expected with a newer sequel. I enjoyed the hell out of both. All I ask is that they get a new game engine.

If I had my way, Bethesda would handle the next numbered game, while Obsidian worked on a non-numbered version like New Vegas. That would be a win-win for me.

I wouldn't mind Obsidian making fallout 4, if maybe they actually hire some programmers rather than employ the room full of blindfolded monkeys on cocaine to do their coding, which seems to be their standard operating procedure.

New Vegas and 3 have their ups and downs in different places. As an open world game, New Vegas is far weaker; it basically feels like a more or less corridor RPG or more like Dragon Age Origins with the walls removed; lots of empty space. Fallout 3 had the better world in that sense for sure. New Vegas had pretty good writing, better in many ways than Fallout 3. A collaboration would be perfect, since then the strengths of 3 and the strengths of New Vegas could be brought together.

I really enjoyed Fallout 3. Especially the environment / set piece. After Fallout 3, I got generally bored of Bethesda games. I dislike Vegas in a fairly lax game as a set piece anyways.

Hoping for Fallout 4, does not matter who makes it. As long as it appeals to me. If it is made by Obsidian or Bethesda, then both have an equal chance of me liking or disliking it. Since I liked Oblivion and fallout 3 but not skyrim and new vegas.
