110% agree! New Vegas is one of the best in the series and if they can make it even better with FO4, I would fap so hard!

Yeah I always figured that people who preferred Fallout 3 never the OG Fallouts. It wasn't bad game or anything, it just wasn't Fallout. |
I can't completely agree that it wasn't Fallout - 3 nailed the pseudo-50's vibe far more than its predecessors, which both largely threw that conceit away - but I'm with you in hoping it's outsourced again.
Only problem is the writer that wrote the story for New Vegas is busy working on "Horizon".

Besides, without Bethesda, Obsidian would have never had the assets to create New Vegas. That being said...I agree with you. Loved New Vegas more than 3, and I'd rather have Obsidian do the next entry, if I have to choose between those two. |
Pretty much this. I really enjoyed New Vegas, but we wouldn't have gotten it without the foundation Bethesda had built with Fallout 3. Both are great games though, its hard for me to choose between either as my favorite.

If you are referring to me, no I was not playing it on the PC. I was playing on the PS3. You do not have to be so rude. It is not BS or disingenous since it was both mine and my wifes experience with two different consoles. I would play Fallout 3 for a few hours before issues would pop up, sometimes less further into the game when save files were huge. Freezes, crashes, etc. With New Vegas i would play 10-20 minutes where those issues would pop up on a consistant basis. I even bought the Game Of The Year addition thinking my disc was faulty and that it might perform better yet had the same experience. I never said it was only an issue with New Vegas. Just that it was far worse than Fallout 3 for me. I love both games I just did not appreciate the level of frustration that I had with New Vegas. Glad to hear you apparently had a different experience with it.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of F1/2 and though I really enjoyed playing F3 I can barely call it Fallout - atmosphere of originals was just not there. But, tbh, transition to 3D could've been much, much worse, so I can't complain much.

Playing it on ps3 is your issue. Skyrim and fallout 3 have issues in there as well. Although I got the platinum on ps3 just fine.

Sorry, I did not realize I was not supposed to buy it on my PS3. I have now said twice that I know Fallout 3 had issues on the PS3. I am simply saying I had far more issues with New Vegas than Fallout 3 on the PS3. Not sure why that is so hard for you to understand. But, I do not come here to argue with people where there is no argument to be had and I am certainly not going to start with you. Good day.
I feel the exact opposite. I found Fallout 3 to be much more enjoyable. New Vegas felt rushed and empty in comparison. The only things that I thought were an improvement were the companion wheel and the poorly implemented idea of factions.
I have zero faith in anything Obisidian makes, especially after their lackluster sequel KOTOR2. That thing was a complete turd. New Vegas isn't as bad, but I still think it's an inferior game.
Hopefully Bethesda fixes their buggy engine before Fallout 4. The issues with their games have little or nothing to do with consoles or pc builds.

You realize that Fallout New Vegas has more content than Fallout 3 right?
