Forums - Microsoft - MS Fire Sale is Working.

Lets call a spade a spade here and not beat around the bush. MS have basically given Black Friday type deals from the beginning of November. Reading through gaf people are literally getting X1 bundles for as little as $250.

Meanwhile SOny are offering (in the US) a Destiny bundle well past it's peak and a standalone bundle for launch price. Yes there are other  old bundles but they're not selling.

Consumers are now buying X1's in massive numbers and time will tell if these are people who were going to get it anyway but have jumped the gun since deals are so good now. Either way the fact is MS so far in nov are heavily outselling the PS4 and will likley do so for at least another week or two.

What I can't get my head around is how Sony haven't announced anything new yet. Why not promote a LBP + Singstar bundle for $350? Or a Far Cry 4 and/or GTA 5 bundle? They have the deals for these games amd publish some of them yet they've been going all Johnny Tightlips on us.

I know Sony can afford to lose Nov and even December but Jesus Christ they will make back a 50$ hit with PS Plus subscriptions and software sales. Case in point are the agressive Bundles that the EU have anounced. SCEA need to wake up or run the risk of losing all momentum.

So Sony: How's your mother?

Sony (so far), "Who says I have a mother".

Where are the $250 deals? Got any links? Thats insane.

Why is everyone so dramatic? All I see are product marketers and over reactions. What is up with this site?

MS should keep the X1 $50 cheaper than the PS4 no matter what for the next year or two. If you're going to play, play to win. They have the money to do so where it's not a big deal to them. Sony doesn't have the pockets to price match MS.

Trade in your last gen system and get an XB1 for $100 off at any microsoft store.

Nice. My boy can get his Xbone now for a cheaper price. Im going to tell him.

Are you saying that the ps4 might actually lose if Sony doesn't do a price cut?

I mean, I don't think $50 price cut is that big of a deal. At most what it will do imo is win NPD but they will lose in EU cause thats where Sony is also really strong in. Also, does Sony really need to do a price cut at all? Cause a ps4 is stronger than an x1 and seems to get the best performance or higher graphics in almost all third party multiplat games so you can justify that extra $50 for better graphics

So I am not too sure. If xbox wins npd, great! But, until x1 wins global, I don't think Sony really has an issue with the price of the ps4 imo. But if it does win global, and it wins it for November and December, then I might agree

have a look on Gaf. They have a deal that if you tradie in your old ps3 or 360 you can get one of the bundles for $250. Many of their ps3's or xbox's don't even work.

Sony letting the X1 back into the game in the US could mean 10M more sales for the X1 there and 10M less for the PS4. WW win is easy and a given for Sony but in the US what I just said could be big in the long run. It could be the diff between MS going another round in the console business or not.

how about we wait for actual figures before overreacting?
