Are you saying that the ps4 might actually lose if Sony doesn't do a price cut?
I mean, I don't think $50 price cut is that big of a deal. At most what it will do imo is win NDP but they will lose in EU cause thats where Sony is also really strong in. Also, does Sony really need to do a price cut at all? Cause a ps4 is stronger than an x1 and seems to get the best performance or higher graphics in almost all third party multiplat games so you can justify that extra $50 for better graphics So I am not too sure. If xbox wins ndp, great! But, until x1 wins global, I don't think Sony really has an issue with the price of the ps4 imo. But if it does win global, and it wins it for November and December, then I might agree

Sony letting the X1 back into the game in the US could mean 10M more sales for the X1 there and 10M less for the PS4. WW win is easy and a given for Sony but in the US what I just said could be big in the long run. It could be the diff between MS going another round in the console business or not.

I get what your saying but would that really be a good business decision for them? Cause firstly, winning 2/3 isn't really a bad thing, secondly its not like they will sell 0 consoles in NA cause most likely, it will be close. So, with that in mind, lets presume (I dont have any actual numbers for this so this is just for the sake of an example) that Sony makes $50 per ps4 sold as of right now so if they cut the price of the ps4 by $50, they will break even. So, if thats true or its something like that, I think it would be wizer to make that $50 profit rather than to break even cause even if they don't sell as much as they would otherwise, they will, imo, make more profit this way and they need it after all the money they lost as a whole company
I really don't think they need to something aggressive until at least 2015 to counteract the price cut cause I think in the eyes of many, the ps4 will still be a better solution and whatever sales they will lose, imo, will be less than what they will gain through just making profit off of per console sold. (If that makes any sense). They will eventually need to do a price cut but I really don't think that the ps4's momentum will be that drastically stopped cause of this so its better if they make profit per console rather than breaking even (provided that is the case). At its worse, it will lose in one territory and at its best, it will win in all
