Forums - Microsoft - MS Fire Sale is Working.

I think there will be an announcement later in the month with bundles from Sony. However, since I already own a PS4 I really can't get excited about a new bundle. You know they have one planned. Maybe they are just waiting to see how week One of this "fire sale" goes for Xbox One.

The promotion just started (officially at least) so people will be rushing to get the Xbox One with its just-lowered price tag.

Maybe it'll maintain this momentum throughout the next 2 months? Or maybe it won't. It's too early to judge right now. Let's not go popping the champagne just yet.

what date is BF? I mean how long can they wait? ALl the EU bundles are up and building pre orders by the day. Why not do the same for NA?

I do agree that no mater what SOny could never have sowed down the sales of the X1 since the deals began. MS must be losing a fortune on them and SOny could never match them deals.

Huge Madden, Fifa, AC Unity, COD AW, Sunset Overdrive and MCC advertising deals are costing them a lot of money but they can take the hit. The least Sony could do is get their promotions out there for games like Far Cry 4, LBP3, Singstar, GTA 5 and get games like Driveclub, TLOU & Infamous SS bundled in with them.

At this point they either have something planned or they don't. I pity them if they don't!

Are you saying that the ps4 might actually lose if Sony doesn't do a price cut?

I mean, I don't think $50 price cut is that big of a deal. At most what it will do imo is win NDP but they will lose in EU cause thats where Sony is also really strong in. Also, does Sony really need to do a price cut at all? Cause a ps4 is stronger than an x1 and seems to get the best performance or higher graphics in almost all third party multiplat games so you can justify that extra $50 for better graphics

So I am not too sure. If xbox wins ndp, great! But, until x1 wins global, I don't think Sony really has an issue with the price of the ps4 imo. But if it does win global, and it wins it for November and December, then I might agree

Sony letting the X1 back into the game in the US could mean 10M more sales for the X1 there and 10M less for the PS4. WW win is easy and a given for Sony but in the US what I just said could be big in the long run. It could be the diff between MS going another round in the console business or not.

I get what your saying but would that really be a good business decision for them? Cause firstly, winning 2/3 isn't really a bad thing, secondly its not like they will sell 0 consoles in NA cause most likely, it will be close. So, with that in mind, lets presume (I dont have any actual numbers for this so this is just for the sake of an example) that Sony makes $50 per ps4 sold as of right now so if they cut the price of the ps4 by $50, they will break even. So, if thats true or its something like that, I think it would be wizer to make that $50 profit rather than to break even cause even if they don't sell as much as they would otherwise, they will, imo, make more profit this way and they need it after all the money they lost as a whole company

I really don't think they need to something aggressive until at least 2015 to counteract the price cut cause I think in the eyes of many, the ps4 will still be a better solution and whatever sales they will lose, imo, will be less than what they will gain through just making profit off of per console sold. (If that makes any sense). They will eventually need to do a price cut but I really don't think that the ps4's momentum will be that drastically stopped cause of this so its better if they make profit per console rather than breaking even (provided that is the case). At its worse, it will lose in one territory and at its best, it will win in all

I agree with this and believe the momentum will slow but my point is Sony are not doing as good as they could. They have deals in place for games like GTA & Far Cry plus exclusves such as LBP3, Drive Club, SIngstar, TLOU and Infamous: SS. How have they not promotd a November bundle yet or even a few of them in the US? They've done it everywhere else in the world. You'd swear they want to lose the US the way they've been going on lately.

agree with sme of that but MS will get a massive PR bost in December after they take Nov. I think SOny are better taking the 50$ hit and seling way more consoles. They will easily make it back multiple times with PS Plus subs, software sales and accesories.

Why is everyone so dramatic? All I see are product marketers and over reactions. What is up with this site?

Just seems like your average sales thread.

I think people need to not overreact. However, I am a bit confused as to why SCEA hasn't announced any bundles or deals while SCEE and SCEJA announced plenty.

how about we wait for actual figures before overreacting?

That's not an option. Accept your fate and embrace our new Xbox overlords.

Have you finally been humbled?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
