Sure. I agree it will be their year for their consoles.
I sure hope so! Xenoblade chronicles was the best game/rpg last gen in my opinion. What a masterpiece! And x.c.x. is my most anticipated game, so i hope they hype and advertise the crap out of it. Because it deserves a large audience!
The overall responses are good so it has a chance.
No. They will continue to be overshadowed and being RPG's that aren't on the 3DS and it will further harm them on a the Wii U with its install base. The Witcher and Dragon Age will also handily take it being multiplat. The 3DS is the RPG platform for Nintendo though.

That's for other consoles.
Those games will undoubtedly be larger in terms of impact on the gaming world, though. I mean, JRPGs have succumbed to being a niche, if a large one.

I guess I'm just a little more optimistic while others seem to be more pessimistic. However, I am trying to keep this in reality, this Legend Of Zelda seems to be taking a direction that will appeal to a TON of people and it's sales are going to blow every other Wii U game out of the water. That's just the facts of it. |
It's Zelda. It will be downplayed as "not being cool enough." And, to the longtime fans of the series, they may see it as crap again, hurting its legs.
As for the advertising, JRPGs are still a niche. That said, it may replicate the success of the Wii JRPGs that weren't promoted well at the end of the Wii lifespan.

For Legend of Zelda, could very well happen too, lol. I mean while there has been a LOT of praise for the reveal, but there has also been a lot of "Link looks like a girl" as well. I think the reveiw scores are going to have people change their mind though and at the end of it's life cycle sell around 4.5-5.5 mil copies. Landing it smack middle sales wise in the franchise. I think it will review VERY well, getting >95.
While I will also agree with you that jrpgs are a niche, but I can see it selling better than operation rain falls RPGs simply due to the fact there is no limited supply of the game. Also, I didn't see ANY marketing push from Nintendo, which could also impact sales.

Mine as well, and I hope so too. They seem to be doing more in terms of advertising it than I have seen them with anything else besides Mario Kart this gen. It does deserve a large audience, and it needs to continue as a series we can expect to get every gen.

Yes, but those games have absolutely 0 impact on whether Xenoblade Chronicles X can become a major seller on Nintendo consoles and a crucial part of Nintendo's library.
As far as the 3DS, it has millions of more owners so obviously there is going to be an impact on sales. I think it could still be a standout title for IP's that sell on Nintendo home consoles.
Unless Nintendo advertises it as their own take on Final Fantasy or some other big name then I can't see this game selling more than 1.2M LTD. I really think there will be another game announced next year that will over shadow Xenoblade

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.
