Just... how?

You took a rol post seriously ...

(Half the time he's either joking or making another comical remark.)

By not agreeing with the absurdly year he gave me?
I don't understand how I took it seriously...

Found it, the gas station is actually from 2010, it was in the TGS 2010 trailer:

It's amazing to see how much the open world graphics have improved in 4 years, gotta love new hardware.

I'm actually underwhelmed by the amount of improvements ...

You have to cut the slob some slack. He likes to think that he is a smart cookie because he notices a sarcastic remark when others do not.

Maybe for you ...

This game looks amazing! Can't wait to get lost exploring!

Looks great! Although FF14 ARR world is massive too! Also cannot wait for the Expansion Heavensward in March 2015!

Of course you are... what was CG is now realtime.

And you see no improvements in the landscape from this video and the ones from the recent builds.

Ah well... to each his own I guess.

Really? I notice quite a few improvements personally. Generally better textures, better lighting, more ground clutter (grass, bushes, etc.), longer draw distances. It looks every bit like a 4 year leap in graphics imo.

I don't know, I was kinding of expecting more in the lighting department ...

Better textures, normal maps and draw distance are a given taking a look at the new texture compression algorithms and the amount of memory the new consoles offer.

I just find more technically impressive current games than this such as Killzone: Shadowfall, Infamous Second Son, Ryse, Forza Horizon 2, Crysis 3, and Driveclub.

The lighting looks meh to me so I won't hold it against Square to make this game look significantly better with 720p@30FPS on the PS4 ...

The latest graphics showcased don't look meh to me at all. They look awesome actually. In the same line as Killzone and Infamous SS

Nahhh ...

Those games are worlds apart in graphics compared to FFXV ...
