And this is why i'm not buying this game, at least not until they bundle all "expansions" and DLC.

| LudicrousSpeed said: Difference between this deal and the CoD deal is you pay $15 for a map pack on CoD regardless of platform and you get the same content. You pay $20 for this "expansion pack" on Destiny and you're paying the same price for less content on Xbox One. It's one peg lower on the shitty DLC scale than the CoD deal. And yeah I have never ever bought a season pass and never will. In fact when a company announces season pass shit, 9 times out of 10 I avoid the game altogether. And 9 times out of those 10 it turns out I make the right decision. Unfortunately this means I probably never play a Forza again. Fucking shenanigans out the ass with that DLC. |
If I'm not mistaken don't MS consoles get the maps for a period of time before the PS consoles do? With Destiny at least the MS folks can access all but one map of the new content at the same time as the PS players. Hard to feel bad for the MS crew when it was essentially MS that started the "timed exclusive" train on its tracks.

Fortunately it's no longer a concern for me now. Was able to get in touch with MS support last night and they were kind enough to give me a full refund on my digital guardian edition of Destiny. A friend of mine told me that apparently you can get a refund on a digital purchase like once a year from them, so I decided to give it a shot.
Very happy now, as I had no desire whatsoever to force myself to play this game anymore just to get my money's worth.

Same price for less content. Nothing in the CoD deal approaches that.
I read on GAF that MS is refunding Destiny for people who think that's bullsh. I think that's a good move on their part. I doubt they will continue doing it very long.

Oh I think the idea of timed exclusivity for anything is piss poor for the consumer. That said, this is merely the evolution of the practice that MS made popular. I fully expect more games to do these types of things in the future.
I think it is great that MS is refunding the game for those folks. Hopefully there is enough of that to eventually end the timed exclusivity deals (it won't, but a man can dream!).

Shit wish I had known that for turds like Watch Dogs or Sniper Elite. I only bought the base edition of Destiny or I'd try for a refund there. I wonder if Grimoire cards is a valid reason for an excuse?

Ya I had no idea either. Always assumed buying digital is final, no takebacks.
Dunno about Grimpire cards (though they are incredibly BS lol), I just told them that I felt Bungie and Activision had misrepresented what their game was going to be, and that us Xbox owners especially pretty much got duped with the DLC. Went into a little back and forth with them and after like 10 minutes they gave me the refund.
I'm not one to usually ever return games or anything which is why I've never had any qualms about going all digital, but this game....just wanted to be rid of it. Glad their support was understanding on the matter.
Apparently MS is investigating the refund requests. Be careful if you want to file a request.
So...no new planets or moons to explore? A lot of people are gonna be disappointed.
