Forums - Sony Discussion - Bloodborne Producer: Targeting 30 FPS because it's better for action games

Technically the game doesn't look that complex, but then again this is From Software. I'm sure stable 30 fps is an achievement for them. Dark Souls II on PS3 could go from 20 to 40 fps.

900p is also a big improvement we're seeing this gen. :-p

I kinda thought it was going for 60 fps, the graphics don't look great.

Oh well!!!

The visuals look next gen, there is a huge difference comapred to previous games on this point too

Well the previous games aren't considered the best looking 7th gen games.

Honestly, Bloodborne looks like a 7th gen game with more polish. Kinda like MGS:GZ without the 60 fps.

Which is fine, I don't expect every 8th gen game to be a visual and technical masterpiece.

Low fps counts are better for the one genre that relies the most on fast motion and animation?! This is getting out of hand lately.

Interesting how differently this is being received than when Ubisoft said it.

as long as it's a great game, couldn't care what frame it runs.

Well you know why.

For an action game, 30fps will never be more than a compromise due to hardware limitations. 60fps is always better in those cases.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

I'm just as outraged... as I have no emotional investment in this title. But its a first-party clusterfuck for some.

Meanwhile at Nintendo the Legion of Doom...

I think I am beginning to accept that soon pretty much every game will run at 30fps cause well.... its "better" of course.

I think with devs, they just can't ignore the IQ gains they have from running at 30fps as opposed to trying to hit 60fps.

Kojima-san and Naughty god(they at least claimed U4 will run at 60fps though I heavily doubt that) our last beacon of hope.
