Forums - Sony - PS Plus Free Game For Nov 2014: "Don't Expect AAA Retail Games for PS3 or PS4" & More Details Leaked

But yeah, I don't subscribe to PS+ anymore (it was either this or Gold) and I just didn't see it being sustainable, anyway.  For one thing, the PS4 hasn't been out very long and also, since PS+ is kinda mandatory for online play and because the PS4 is dominating the entire gen, what's the motivation for Sony to buy loyalty with big games?  Winners make their own rules.

We will get there some day. I don't really care if it takes a year or longer for AAA releases to a ppear in the store. If I haven't bought the game by then myself I'm obviously not interested enough in it.
I am thankful for all the small indigames that I normally wouldn't even look at. And it's still great value even without a $60 game every month.

You guys do realize that Sony was giving away AAA titles on PS+ on PS3...like, 4 years into the consoles life right? Hard to give away AAA titles, when the majority are 3rd party, and less than a year old. Some seriously entitled gamer's out there.

Honestly it feels like you are just defending a bad thing.  I feel like the Vita got/gets way better Ps plus games than what PS4 did.  symbolic wise it is strange because the PS4 is doing amazing and Sony is like 'Wow we have 5-8 million or more extra PS plus subscribers thanks to PS4...Here is an free Indie game'...and  'wow almost nobody bought a Vita in the US and EU and we got only 100 extra Ps plus subscribers here  are some amazing  free ps plus games'...         .

PS+ isn't as good as it used to be, absolutely. I think Sony offered such good games at first, because they wanted to build an image of how great PS+ was (Which they succeeded with flying colors). You would never hear the end of people saying how great PS+ was, right? That was Sony's goal right there.

Now that they've built up this positive image for it, they make it a requirement for online multiplayer (With some exceptions) and are starting to hold back on the game offerings.

Regardless, it's still an incredible deal! I'm most certainly getting my money's worth out of it on the free games. I almost feel guilty getting games like Resogun, Terraria, Fez, Velocity Ultra, and Uncharted GA all for free.

There are a shit ton of games this november so I can understand why. Far Cry, CoD, AC, LBP3, GTA, etc. There are plenty of AAA titles next month, i think many peple will be too busy playing all of that, on top of MORE AAA titles from PS+ (albeit, much older)

I think we might be getting a little to entitled here, Sony(or Microsoft) don't really have to give us free games, it's more of an incentive for choosing their platform as well as subscribing for Online play. Sony or MS can't be throwing money around to have AAA games coming out every months, perfectly fine with the indie games they given us

That being said it lucky that PS4 fans are getting and have been getting free games this early, It took like 8 months for us vita fans to get anything, can't say much about the Ps3 as I can't remember what games they offered when it first went live. That being said 2011-2013 was had some pretty good content for games/dlc/themes/avatars and they lasted for MONTHS not just one month as they do now. I saw this coming a mile away when Sony announced PS+ was required for online, the quality and quantity has gone downhill

Would Knack class as a AAA retail game?

I don't own a PS4, why would I defend it?  Just saying, PS+ free games collection launched in 2010, which is 4 years after the PS3's launch, which is 4 years worth of games they can pick and choose from.  PS4 has been out for almost a year now, I personally think it's unfair and certainly a sense of entitlement to expect AAA titles every month.  You're most certainly free to disagree with me, it's absolutely your right (I personally feel that anyone with that expectation should've thought about it a bit more, and probably avoided putting money down on such a silly notion, but that's me). Giving away bockbusters  for free so early in the lifecycle, especially when the bulk of profit comes from software, peripheral and DLC purchases, is unsustainable.

PS Vita's 2+ years old, so it has a larger library (187 games to 62), also, it's struggling like hell to sell, so naturally you'd want to provide people with some incentive to purchase it.  Makes sense to me, might sound like I'm defending the PS4, but, I'm simply applying logic.  If you give away every major title from the beginning of a consoles life, you won't be selling major titles.

To put this in perspective, they've given away 147 titles on the PS3 (PAL), 61 on the Vita (1 less than the amt of games on the PS4...that've soldat least 10K on vgchartz) and 19 on the PS4 (That's 30% of their games library, btw).  30%...w/in the first 10 months (almost 11) from the systems launch.

You don't have to like it.  But, you also don't have to buy into it.  So, it's entirely up to you, but expecting blockbuster giveaways so early, is just not going to happen inside the first year.  Though, I also feel that had the issues with DC PS+ edition not occurred, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I paid a little over $2 a month for the service. Honestly been very content this year with what I've been able to try out. If I could change anything it would be a longer window to play the games, but oh well.

Defend because I feel like this is the obvious summary of opinions on PS plus :  PS3 awesome/Vita: Why do I need to buy games XD?....PS4''  hmm many indies and where is DC?            Then again if you ask people what they should give away with PS plus they don't know aswell =p...  I don't think PS4 plus is bad, it is just kind of weak ^^'.
