What stuff have they previously announced at these?

(I don't pay much attention to this stuff, so haven't a clue what happens :p)

I personally don't remember any new games announcement, they tend to give a lot of release dates but that's about it I think.

Edit: now that I think about it, Nintendo did announce the Quality of Life thingy in one of these (although we haven't heard anything about that in a very long time), that's the biggest announcement they had that I can remember.

They announced Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire last quarter (or the one before that).

I thought that was on a Nintendo Direct, but after a quick Google search I see you are right.

Amiibos were also shown in very early form if one of this if memory serves right.

Nintendo forecasted $400 million operating profit for this fiscal year.

After Q1 they are around -$90 million so they would need $490 million profit in the next 3 quarters to meet forecast.

With the way things have turned for 3DS and Wii U, I'd guess there will be red again this quarter.

My 8th gen collection

I have a hard time seeing how they will turn a profit this Q but I guess stranger things have happened... We'll see soon enough!

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

It's out.

3DS: 1.27m
Wii U: 610k

Software
3DS: 14.73m
Wii U: 5.01m

VGC has the Wii U at 7.36m as of October 4th compared to 7.29m shipped at the end of September.  3DS is 45.19m VGC, 45.42m shipped.

Wii U too low... fail Nintendo :(

Wii U LTD 7.29 million

215 million yen operating loss ($US2 million), 14.3 billion yen net income ($US132 million) for the 6 months ending 30 Sep 14.

Half a year down, and the Wii U has shipped less than a third of their forecast target of 3.6 million (1.12 million so far), even with the holiday season do people still think Nintendo were being conservative with their estimate or were they being optimistic?

Selling more than shipped, like a champ.

Well they made a small profit at least. It's something. Wii U is selling better than last year but still fairly dismal numbers a lot of Nintendo fans seemed to be hoping for the moon in expecting 1 million shipments.

3DS is starting to fizzle out.
