Forums - Nintendo - What I'd like to see from the definitive Star Fox game.

The original was great. 64 was the best. Adventures was amazing in it's own unique way. And Assault... it's been too long since I played it so I don't have a valid opinion. I know nothing about command. This series has had highs and lows and it's time for either Adventures 2 or a sequel to Assault/prequel to 1 that truly captures the beauty of 64.

On a side note, if and when we get to the point where there is a 64th game in the star fox series (I'm estimating somewhere around 2077), will there be mass consumer confusion? Will Nintendo's stock crash? Will it set off a chain reaction that will cause Half-Life 4 (launching 2078) to be cancelled by EA (who bought it from Sony, who bid and won the rights to it when Valve collapsed because of the failure known as Duke Nukem Universe [ which bankrupted them]) for the 13th time? These are the pontifications of my mind.

Life is too short for reading a gigantic text about what a person wants in a wiiU game.

That said, the little I have read I liked. Just gimme a decent game like the first and second, do not need to overthink.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

See I think people were a little to critical on Adventures. Obviously there's already an adventure game series at Nintendo and the game just felt like a weak Zelda, but it had some stuff other Star Fox's (and even Zelda) exclude. First off while comparing it to Zelda, it had voice acting. Not wonderful, but it still had it something Zelda could use eventually. Something this one did way over the other Star Fox's was an in-depth storyline and you couldn't beat the game in under 5 hours like even 64. (I am aware 64 had extra collectibles but seriously it took like 50 minutes to beat.) Anyway, I do like both elements of on foot and rail shooting and think they should both be included, but more in depth.

Thanks for all the great memories!

I think regardless of how good it is, on-foot exploration as it was in Adventures has no place in Star Fox. That game had absolutely nothing to do with what a Star Fox game should, in fact you barely had any sort of interaction with the Star Fox team (and as far as I can tell (haven't beat the game yet, so please don't spoil it), Falco just totally went missing). I do want on-foot missions, and there even could be on-foot exploration to some extent, but it shouldn't just go all out Zelda-like. If the Star Fox essence is broken, something's wrong.

I want the Star Fox essence but the on foot adds a level of depth you can't get from flying around to 8 different planets.

Ye of little faith. Miyamoto will deliver.

Whatever they do, I just hope they put a good amount of effort & passion into it. Star Fox Assault & Command just seemed like half-assed sequels in comparison to SF 64 & SF Adventures (as much as I think it was a bad SF game, it was a good game overall). Just please... no dinosaurs this time.

Its so conflicting. I think it is a great game, and I did enjoy playing it on the GameCube, but I feel like as a Star Fox game I would have preferred they stuck to gameplay similar to the N64 entry. Then again, Rare didn't actually set out to make a Star Fox game in the beginning, so I suppose its definitely better than the alternative of not getting a Star Fox game at all.

The only thing i expect before playing a videogame is to be surprised.

They definitely could make a top quality beautiful shooter game, but I don't think it will be ready by the end of 2015.

Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).

Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !
