Smash will make wallets happier, while Destiny will make them die. So many unessecary DLC.

What does that even mean? Can you explain, please?

Are you saying that Smash will make wallets happier because no one will buy it while people who bought Destiny will end upgetting DLC's and would thus spend even more money on the game? In other words, that Destiny will destroy Smash in profit? Or am I reading this wrong?

No. Smash will make wallets happier because it is a full product. Destiny is unfinished, because it has areas unaccesible or very unfinished, so you will have to pay Activision for access. Wallets will feel sad that they died for unfinished content.

Right. That's a weird analogy then considering the commonly used expressions in English when referring to spending money on something. Anyway, as you were.

I dunno, I managed to understand his anology pretty well before his explination because where I come from I know buying a full product is better for your wallet than having to constantly dish out more to be able to grasp the full product over time.

I remember people finding content they can't access and it reminds me instantly of the Capcom fiasco with Resident Evil 5 where users found out that contaent was indeed locked within the disk with Capcom admitting freely that it was their version of "disk locked content" (instead of Downloadable content but still both are withheld) which in turn caused people to become angry and issue complaints, seeing as how Destiny isn't fully a completel product I can easily tell it's 100% going to rely on all the DLC to tell the full story and give it;s users the full experience rather than the norm base model of releasing a full game, I'd opt for the latter any time of day.

On topic I'd probably think it will be 50/50 since Smash is insanely popular and the 3DS install base is bigger than PS4 currently but I'll probably sit back and see how that transpires because it could happen either way even though getting a fully complete product>barebones sold in pieces product.

Also don't forget the Amiibos that you can intergrate with Smash, the NGC controllers you can buy with the connector as well, plus the DLC Smash will have, I would have to argue that Smash in time will rake in more profit than Destiny in the future.

This is going to be really interesting to see...

Who says someone needs to buy all the DLC's to enjoy Destiny? Some people see DLC's as expansions or additional/optional gameplay. Again, a wallet would be happy if Smash was terrible.  It would also be happy if Amiibos didn't exist because people will buy them and it will hurt the wallet even more. Both games will hurt wallets. Drive club on the other hand, will probably make most wallets happy.

As for the comments about locked content, they mostly come from people who have no idea how coding works. It's not very easy to add content later without creating an insane amount of bugs for big games like Skyrim and  Destiny. The developer has every right to make a game as short or long as they want. Had it not been for the future DLC, the locked areas wouldn't exist in the first place. Comparing this with Smash which is a completely different game is all kinds of silly.

As for "the norm base model of releasing a full game" again you have two completely different games. In terms of content, time and resources, it seems to me that Destiny is far more expensive to make than Smash (though nowhere near .5 b). Thus in order to be profitable, Destiny needs to sell DLC, while Smash doesn't. You can buy whatever you want; I'm just at least make fair comparisons and have realistic expectations. That's all.

Yeah it will, its an amazing game and very fun to play with friends.

I'd say it's destiny that Smash smashes Destiny on the long run since they generally keep on selling over a long time, something I doubt Destiny will manage to do as long. Especially if Destinys Servers would be shut down during the Lifetime of the Wii U. It will be a very close call nontheless.

You might think so, but the reviews have affected people's opinion on the game. You can look at the sales of the game some time soon and see how many wallets it hurt. Mediocre reviews killed any chance this game had at success. In other words, thanks to ps+ I think most people will not buy the full game and only play the ps+ version.

Do reviews have any effect on someone's wallet? I don't think so, it might hurt the devs but as long as its customers find the game fun I consider it to be making their wallets happy.

People will upgrade from PS+ version if they find the game to be fun. Reviews can't beat your own opinion on a game.

I wish that were true but sadly it's not. Reviews have a huge impact on what people end up buying. Many people here have admitted that they don't play anything with a lower than 80+ meta. You can also see people's reaction to reviews and how they state they've lost interest in the game. Even if they do play the ps+ version,  I'm sure many will end up not enjoying it because they've already decided that it's not good based on the reviews and they'll only be looking for flaws.

And again, a wallet is happy when you spend no money, so if they do buy the game, your wallet won't be happy.

If they find the PS Plus version good enough they will upgrade to the full version, but we may never know as the full digital version is much cheaper than the retail version.

Reiews have an effect on a game's sales because its customers believe in what the reviewers say as they cannot try out the game. Besides in games of this type nobody has to consider a story or anything, they will judge the game entirely based on the gameplay, the experience and the fun they can have with the PS Plus version.

It's not even a question, Destiny is straight up going to kill Super Smash Bros in terms of commercial success ...

If by commercial succes you mean profits, then Smash Bros. might have the edge on Destiny even with lower sales, having cost considerably less to produce and advertise.

** Updated Sales ** Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS 8.07 Million combined vs Destiny at 9.76 Million combined. SSB3DS (5.33 Million sold) beats out Destiny PS4 (4.55 Million sold).

To me the 3DS version selling out the PS4 version was common sense (because 3DS sales more than double PS4 sales) albeit many people said I was a fool for thinking this. My prediction of SSBs selling out it's 8 gen counterparts was true!

Despite a small boast during the Holidays, Destiny's legs seem to have fallen off (even with DLC) and as I predicted. CoD AND Halo had a lot to do with that too. I am rather surprised that SSBs has a chance to beat a game on 4 platforms life time sales (Smash Legs are no slouch either)! Everyone spoke too soon (including ME... )
