Uuuuhhh....If you have average American internet that's an hour and a half download time, not including instillation and downloading the game itself. That's garbage.

I would love an hour and a half hours to download 20gb... So...

Yeah.... Probably a few other users too! It'll take me about 4-5 hours!

I'm pretty damn sure you would agree, rather than the ones that have chosen to take the "meh not an issue, the complainers probably never intended to buy anyway / dont have xbox ones", that you would have been much happier if they included the content on a second "install" disk, rather than having to download the extra content in order to get the full experience.

As it stands, nobody has really attacked the game over it, instead they're just dissapointed/displeased with the practice.

People can say "well it doesnt affect the main experience anyway", It bloody well does if all you want to do is put the game in and jump straight in to playing the old games multiplayer maps like I do.

I have net fast enough to download it in a very short amount of time, XBL server speed permitting, but that doesn't change my opinion of this being a BS practice, 20gb is bigger than, or a huge chunk of most peoples bandwidth caps, and for many others is a lengthly download, multyplayer will work just fine on even a 1mbit connection, but a 20gb download will not.

Makes me wonder how many people will hit their DL cap just installing the addon content, then have to deal with laggy multiplayer for the rest of the month because their bandwidth got throttled.

They should have put the content on a second disk, and everyone, even the xbox diehards, should be asking for the same thing rather than defending it tooth and nail and shrugging off any negativity as nothing but an attack on their platform.

Here's the total download time for various connection speeds, with a 4% bandwidth overhead (using 96% of their maximum connection speed)

512Kbps = 3 days 18 hours 17 minutes
1mbit = 1 day 21 hours 8 minutes
2mbit = 22 hours 34 minutes
5mbit (Average US packaged service speed) = 9 hours 14 minutes
10mbit (Average US high speed) = 4 hours 37 minutes
20mbit = 2 hours 19 minutes

You're right. I wish it shipped with 2 discs.

I also understand that it's not too much either. I'll be playing, sleeping or working when it's downloading.

I don't remember hearing any complaints from anyone about the Assassins Creed Black Flag 10gb patch. There was also a 1080p patch for PS4 gamers on top of that too, right?

It's 4 games, Halo 5 beta and and Halo: Nightfall for $59! It makes sense to ship it on one disc and help keep the price down, especially for an optional download!

10g is less obnoxious certainly, but they should still have thought of an alternative.  Just because it's on PS4 doesn't make a difference to me.

Oh, the patch was for Xbox One also. Not to mention the Sniper Elite 3 10gb day one patch... I just remember no complaints for the multiplatform titles from either fanbase.

Sick of these crusades, really.

Then when you just download the content couldnt you just copy it to a usb stick or something to keep safe for future use?

Don't know I guess I could check a bit harder. From what I could see patches get installed and integrated so you need to backup the whole drive.

If you can save updates on their own then it be the perfect alternative and acceptable to me. If you can't this is somehting all the console manufacturers needs to consider.

Incidentally... I know you dont like this question, but do you have an xbox or do you intend to buy one.  No need to be angry, its just a question.

Yes, I do, both an american one and a japanese launch one.

Believe it or not, it's possible to own a console and still be subjective., no need to take the "boohoo stop bashing xbox i bet you dont even have one" attitude.

Not sure where you were then because there was debate from many users here about it being rediculous even then, for 10gb.

Hmm, remember how big last gen PS3 games were so I am not surprised 343 didn't manage to fit all 4 games on one disc.

Have a link for that?

For me 20 gb will take more then 1 week if i am torrent some files, if its straight download from Xbox live maybe it will take more then that. my Internet speed is around 315Kbps

I live in a place where having internet with higher speed is very expensive.

It's a slippery slope that undermines physical releases. People opting for a physical release shouldn't just get 70% of the game and an IOU to download the rest. Maybe the extra 20 GB only contains multiplayer maps that can't be played in local splitscreen so it doesn't affect those without internet or when the servers are eventually turned off. Still a shitty practice, you don't opt for the physical release to still have to download for hours before you can play everything.

I'm also not happy with MS digital voucher bundles. Means the bundles are practically worthless to me with my data cap. I'm waiting for a store bundle I like that includes a physical release. I guess it won't be a MCC bundle.
