no it won't.  it is like Bayonetta has a Link costume. so do we assume Bayonetta became a Zelda spinoff in a sense? or even a Metroid spinoff then?

I think a team Mario armed with fludd devices vs Inklings would be great, imagine one team having to cover the map whilst the others clean it up.

I dont think so that Nintendo have intend to involve any other franchise in Splatoon,but they will certainly involve Splatoon in other franchises, like Smash Bros. and Mario Kart.
