Not like this.

No, it was even bigger on Ps2 vs Xbox era

But it was a long time ago :p

We were used to Europe not being so much Sonyland, so maybe the people who say the early launch helped a lot the 360 were right

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

X360 reached 25M in Europe, more than 1M in Spain.

Now, One will be very very lucky to even reach 5M in Europe and 100k in Spain

Exactly. They are going to face major contractions in the US and UK, and their install base in Europe and ROW is going to basically dissappear. It's why I don't see it hitting 50 million. At best it'll do 40 million lifetime.

Same prediction, 40M X1, 20M Wii U, 120M PS4 ( the gamers wont disappear, they'll just go on PS4 )

You can say all you like about Spencer but he's still going to utterly miss why Sony keep kicking their ass. Their complete ignorance and lack of respect shown to regions outside the UK and US.

PS7 - Xbox1

At least Brazil have a companion now.

I fail to see at what point did Microsoft show lack of respect and ignorance towards Spain.

Just look at the numbers. They showed off the console first and touted it as TV TV TV TV TV. And it was all heavily tilted at the US and UK markets. All ground the 360 made was obliterated. The console literally has negative chance in so many EU countries now.

What does that have to do with showing lack of respect and ignorance towards a region? Showing lack of respect and ignorance would have been bombarding with an advert that showed a bullfighting, and after slaying the bull, the torero goes behind the stage to play some D4 on Xbox One while eating Maria cookies and screaming at the screen.

Touting a media device as TV TV TV TV TV has nothing to do with being disrespectful to a region.

Seems like the Spanish market is getting smaller or they are slow to adopt or worse still... both.

Only 410k? Thats pityful for a population of over 47m. UK has managed 1.8m on 64m so far.

Well done to PS4. Nobody is really surprised though surely?

Well, by 2009

360 sold 675k  (one year more on market)

PS3 had sold 1.25m

Wii 2m

Shrinking market?  I think so.

This is why I think you talk complete and utter tripe. Pituful for a population of 47m when there's (still) ~25% unemployement (though i suspect higher and that Spain, allongside Greece have been cooking the books) and 50% youth unemployement, what on earth do you expect?

Regardless of that comparing Spain to the Uk is massively unfair, for a start the UK is a Far Far bigger gaming country than any other in Europe, especially Spain, hell there's an argument that the UK is now the second biggest individual market for gaming (with Japan crashing and all that). There's also the fact that people on the continent often import from the UK, which boosts number. Then the simple fact that the UK is simply a richer country than Spain, and has been for more than 2 centuries....

Shrinking market? You're comparing sales of consoles that have been out 10 months, and 22 months to consoles that had been out for 4 years, 2 and a half year and 3 years respectively.....And yeah, the market might be shrinking somewhat, but is that honestly that surprising when their economy is completely and utterly fucked?

Doesn't suprise me, other than the UK, the ps always vastly outsells the xbox in europe.

From GAF.

2.5:1 was the PS3:360 attach rate.

Lifetime? What about sales and the ratio after one year?

Well, by 2009

Wait, you're comparing when the PS3 had ~3 ~2 years on the market to when the PS4 just had 1?  Why don't you wait til '16 before we actually compare the numbers.

@ OP

Obliteration.

shrinking market will always be the excuse to explain bad X1 sales in Europe i guess, the market is shrinking but yet, the PS4 is doing just like the PS3.
