Shrinking market? I think so.

This is why I think you talk complete and utter tripe. Pituful for a population of 47m when there's (still) ~25% unemployement (though i suspect higher and that Spain, allongside Greece have been cooking the books) and 50% youth unemployement, what on earth do you expect?
Regardless of that comparing Spain to the Uk is massively unfair, for a start the UK is a Far Far bigger gaming country than any other in Europe, especially Spain, hell there's an argument that the UK is now the second biggest individual market for gaming (with Japan crashing and all that). There's also the fact that people on the continent often import from the UK, which boosts number. Then the simple fact that the UK is simply a richer country than Spain, and has been for more than 2 centuries....
Shrinking market? You're comparing sales of consoles that have been out 10 months, and 22 months to consoles that had been out for 4 years, 2 and a half year and 3 years respectively.....And yeah, the market might be shrinking somewhat, but is that honestly that surprising when their economy is completely and utterly fucked?
