I fail to see at what point did Microsoft show lack of respect and ignorance towards Spain.

Just look at the numbers. They showed off the console first and touted it as TV TV TV TV TV. And it was all heavily tilted at the US and UK markets. All ground the 360 made was obliterated. The console literally has negative chance in so many EU countries now.
