i suggest using the term "Microsoft platform exclusive".

No matter what I do, it will offer up some version of hatred from certain forum members. If I say Microsoft Platform exclusive, some ass is going to come in here to bitch at me saying you can make a workaround in Linux to play their PC games so it doesn't count. They have an argument for EVERYTHING.

I decided I will do what should be done. I will listen to members that treat this topic with some measure of respect. Anyone that comes in to do nothing but bash this list will not have a say on any changes that could be made to it. This goes for any of the other lists forum members have worked their asses off to create. These are topics that have taken countless hours out of our posting time and we deserve to have these topics peaceful and productive, since locking these threads are not really an option.

Well I would say that MS makes no money off of PC games via licensing fees like they do with 360 games, so calling it MS exclusive wouldn't make any sense, as it's not really helping MS.  :P

Unless you count additional sales of their OS, but 1. why single out the OS and not other PC components, and 2. most people would be buying the OS anyway, even if they didn't play games.

PC exclusives help sell GPUs, RAM, CPUs, etc. far more than OSes.  Most people just reuse an old copy of Windows that they have lying around when building a new PC.

Sorry for derailing this thread even further, but I couldn't help myself.  The notion that MS = PC gaming has always bugged me to no end.  >_>

Wow. This thread went all to hell, and I'm afraid a probably had a hand in it early on. For that, I apologize.

Tbh, I think all the arguments stem from overly defensive PC gamers such as shio, naznatips, and myself. You see, every other day some two-bit analysts writes up an article proclaiming PC gaming to be dead, even though it is not dead, and no where close to actually being dead. Guys like myself get tired of having to counter the same old BS arguments day after day, and when a thread like this pops up that completely ignores what is (in our opinion) the best gaming platform out there, it really rubs us the wrong way, and we react negatively (and quite harshly) towards it.

I think one way to get around this is to simply divide up the list like I have done in the PS3 exclusives thread. Provide one section of true exclusives, and then one section of "console" exclusives for those that don't like PC gaming.

Of course, I wouldn't have included "console" exclusives in my thread at all had it not been for this thread, but that was the fanboy in me taking over. I didn't like this list being so much longer than my own.

I do acknowledge PC games in this list. In no way are they being ignored. I just have it formatted differently than you do. If someone can't see which are which, their more immediate issue should be to get down to the doctor's for a new prescription for their eyes.

I made this list for the people that were on the fence with whether they should get a 360 or a PS3. Everyone else's concerns for this list come second. We do not get many topics with people wondering whether they should buy a 360 or bulk up their PC. We do get, almost every single day, a topic with someone about to go down the HD console road. This list is for them as yours is too. I don't expect you to remove The Agency, MLB 09 or NBA 09 because those are games that are not shared on the 360 and that is important to know. Tekken 6 and BlazBlue are available to purchase as arcade cabinets, but obviously that is out of reach for 99% of the population so it shouldn't be a legitimate concern. This is why no "exclusives" list will be perfect, as the more you strip away from it, the less people that benefit from it.

The 2009 list is going to be different however. It will be done to maximize how much help it can offer for everyone, because I see this list hasn't benefitted PC and PS3 fanboys, whom if you didn't know are my main attractions in building this list in the first place. It will only include 360 games that are for sure staying on 360, so if a game is rumored to go to the PS3, i'll remove it. If it's on the PC too, or will be down the line, i'll remove it. If it's just a game that is usually expected to see a PC release one day, but hasn't been announced like a Gears of War or Halo, they'll be stricken from the list. My future goal will be to shorten the list as much as possible to alienate those damn Microsoft lovers into never showing their faces as PS3 and PC fanboys gloat over their own platforms' superiorities.

For the record, the "additional content" in Still Alive is just some of the maps in the Portal Flash map pack that PC gamers got for free... http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2008/07/portal_still_alive_explained_1.php

There is no additional content in the game that hasn't already been available on the PC for months.

It's such a waste having to buy the Orange Box just for Portal. Thanks for the find.

You didn't like The Orange Box? I guess it really doesn't play as well with joysticks but it should still be a great game.

I've never played the Orange Box. I didn't want to. I just wanted to play Portal and now I can.

Not as bad as you might think

Half Life 2 is a must play but TF2 is kinda wishy-washy. It's ok in small doses but I get bored pretty fast with it. I'll break it out about once or twice a month to play with friends but that's about it.

I've only played the PC versions though. My friend rented the 360 version just to see and said it was a pretty good port but I wouldn't know for myself.

Just ignore the haters and trolls and list them however you want.  It's your list. If they don't like it they can make their own list.  (BTW, great job!)

To me 360 exclusive means it's not going to PS3 or Wii at launch even if it is just "timed exclusive".  I find it funny that people view PC as gaming console just because they don't like the idea that the game is not coming to PS3. (Or may be you instead of 360 Exclusive you can put "NOT FOR PS3"

I am in the same boat.  I know that Half Life 2 is great but FPS is not genre I enjoy.  I do play them on occasion (mostly multiplayer) but it would be great to be able to get just Portal since I heard so much good thing about it.
