Wait... what? You need to stop to creat argumetns... Destiny is the best selling new IP even created... it is the definition of the expression selling like hot cakes.

And you are comparing a game released today with a classics of over a decade... can we wait Destiny make it 10th anniversary to see if it become a classic or not?

The game is the best selling new IP ever... it is on track to be the best selling game on PS4 and Xbone.

hell yeah we do. people arent buying the game because it massively underperformed critically.  they arent buying it because it is regarded as the biggest disappointment of 2014. theyre buying it because____. you fill in the blank

i didnt say that was a fact. it certainly is ONE of the biggest disappointments of the year. if youre going to deny that, then you (not me) are the biased one living in a bubble that doesnt constitute reality. acknowlege destiny for what it is. a decent game that sold the majority of the copies off of hype that a lot of people have enjoyed and are still enjoying but at the same time understand that the game is your standard run of the mill game. just because a lot of people are enjoying it right now doesnt mean that they all think its the most epic amazing shit ever.

first of all, sit in a chair or something, perhaps in a dark room so you can really have an honest discussion with yourself on both sides of this question.

does destiny have 3.2m people playing it because of how stellar of a game it is? hmm.. well, lets see. it isnt critically acclaimed.. so thats out. more gamers have expressed negative opinions about it than positives, so positive word of mouth is out.. an insane amount of money (an amount of money that probably should have been poured into actually making the game) was put behind it for advertising.. so maybe a lot of sales are attributed to the ubiquitousness of it. it has giant names behind it pushing it, which kind of goes back to what i just said about advertising, so yes this game has been shoved down our throats and we have been told so many awesome things about it, so maybe it sold a lot based off of promises. 

so yeah. there really is nothing indicating that this game has sold a significant amount based off of it being a quality title. there is more evidence suggesting that its the highest selling new IP because of.. other factors. that dont have to do with it being a great game. are you really going to continue denying that?

People talk like this has a 40 score on metacritic. Yeah, it didnt get to the 80s rating, but its by no means a terrible game that people cant enjoy

The word of mouth is what is selling Destiny in my opinion... I just head good things about it.

If says here in VGC people are saying it is a disappointment... I can say GAF is 100x bigger than VGC and the people there are loving it... it is already in the OT7 when the record was Halo 3 with OT8.

You can leave your bubble and face not EVERYBODY share you opinion or your friend opinion.

A lot of gamers things Destiny is great and enjoy it.

You are being annedoctal... that is why it success is hurting you... you are using your bias here to try to says the game is not a quality one when it is.

People are different and like different things... Millions of gamers like what they are seeing in Destiny.
