Forums - Nintendo - I learned something fascinating about N64 sales

Nintendo must be aggressive.

They aren't. And so the legacy is dying........and the new generations in 30 years time will praise PlayStation and Xbox as the NES/SNES of today.

The PS1 is already the NES/SNES for me and many others as we were growing up, so you're 30 years too late.

Interesting... Is he making a living out of this?
I think it's pretty cool!

Speaking of N64, I still need to buy one!
I wanted to buy one for years, but never got around it.

You really should! I prefer the SNES and the GameCube, but the N64 is still a great system with a rich library of games.

Sadly I don't have the money right now.

The end of the year is filled with games, so I probably won't be buying it any time soon.

If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

I think they already are. And rightly so, brilliant consoles!

Well, that was a surprising statement.

OT: You are saying Nintendo fans aren't willing to move on and are extremely ignorant to things outside their realm of "goodness"? I can agree with that.

Grab an emulator, you'll spare money and make the world a better place.

I don't get why you say that someone will make the world a better place by using an emulator. I don't get it if it is supposed to be a joke either.

It has to do with his sig. it says... "Play games on pc, you'll make the world a better place."

So you should play the N64 in your PC. I mean Sleepyprince says so... so it must be true.

Ugh. Hate resellers. Have to camp yard sales 30 mins early and sometimes even call ahead and reserve stuff...

I'm glad I already have most of the high profile N64 games, so that I don't have to spend a buttload to get them.

In a way, Nintendo must compete with itself and it's legacy. Every single possible new thing they do is so heavily scrutinized in comparison to Nintendo's past and legacy that if falls short in any way, customers would rather comb through pawn shops and ebay for what's considered the best of the Nintendo offering rather than take a chance on anything new, perhaps even with solid or exemplary newer games.

And this is why Nintendo rarely cuts the price of their software, and it's why Virtual Console games don't cost 99¢. People will pay $40 for an almost-20-year-old game.

Is your friend that Nintendo 64 kid from youtube? I always wondered what ever became of him.

I understand! Hopefully you will get one next year!
