ESPN NFL 2K5 is an American football video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by2K Sports and the Sega Corporation. It is a part of the NFL 2K series. The game was originally released on July 20, 2004, for both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox video game consoles. It was the last NFL 2K game to be released before Electronic Arts signed an exclusivity deal with the NFL to make 2K’s rival Madden NFL series the only officially licensed NFL game. 03- Shadow of the Colossus

Shadow of the Colossus, released in Japan as Wander and the Colossus is an action-adventure game published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCEI) for the PlayStation 2. The game was released in North America and Japan in October 2005 and PAL territories in February 2006. It was directed by Fumito Ueda and developed at SCEI’s International Production Studio 1, also known as Team Ico; the same development team responsible for the cult hit Ico. Shadow of the Colossus is considered a spiritual successor to Ico. Along with Ico, Shadow of the Colossus was re-released in The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus

02- Shenmue

Shenmue is a 1999 action-adventure video game developed by Sega AM2 and published by Sega for the Dreamcast, produced and directed by Yu Suzuki. Suzuki coined a genre title for its nonlinear gameplay, “FREE” (Full Reactive Eyes Entertainment), for the game, based on the interactivity and freedom he wanted to give to the player. Suzuki intended to achieve this by simulating aspects of real life through the game, such as the day and night system, real-time variable weather effects (unheard of in a game of this kind at the time), fully voiced non-player characters with their own daily schedules, quick time events, and various other interactive elements such as vending machines, arcades, and convenience stores.

Beyond: Two Souls is an interactive drama action-adventure video game for the PlayStation 3console, developed by Quantic Dream. It was released on 8 October 2013 in North America, 9 October 2013 in Australia, 11 October 2013 in Europe, and 17 October 2013 in Japan.

The game features Jodie Holmes, one of two player characters. The other is a ghost named Aiden: a separate soul linked to Jodie since birth. Jodie is portrayed by actress Ellen Page, who provided voice acting as well as motion capture performance for the role. Willem Dafoe co-stars as Nathan Dawkins, a researcher in the Department of Paranormal Activity as well as Jodie’s surrogate-father-figure.

I don't think any of these games are underrated. Well, maybe Beyond: Two Souls. But if anyone thinks NFL 2K5 or Shadow of The Colossus are underrated games they're crazy!

What do they mean by underrated? Sales/Popularity? Because Eternal Darkness, NFL 2K5 and Shadow of the Colossus have metascores over 90.

Sales of course. Scores don't matter to developers as long as sales are blossoming. Do you seriously think Activision cares about the scores COD has gotten so far? It's all about what they have/can earn from the franchise.

We do care about these scores though, even though they're not the whole story. Games like Demon's Souls that resulted in the birth of a franchise, and maybe 2 after Bloodborne, received a lot of bashing in the beginning before it achieved the cult status it now has. Hell even Yoshida didn't think much of it, he was sorry in hindsight though

Shadow of the Colossus was underrated ? I don't think the OP knows what "underrated" actually means ...

Edit: What the OP added makes no sense as using sales to determine if a game is "underrated" is rubbish for the most part. There are usually good reasons why games sell as much as they do and it's the market as a whole that decides what the value of a game is, not a bunch of forum dwellers on the internet gaming community. 

Well, I usually relate "underrated" to reviews and scores. Maybe because it's not my native language...

Something is underrated by consumers/critics, not underrated as such. That leads to confusion.

So, a game with high critical acclaim can be underrated if the mass market ignores it? Good to know.

But weren't the sales of NFL 2K5 good and EA signed a exclusivity deal to kill the competition? And I still hear on forums that the 2K series was much better.

Beryond two souls has really bad gameplay, heck I don't even know if it has some gameplay.

I don't know anyone who ties underrated to sales. It's typically used in conjunction with recognition the game gets.

Six of those seven games are loved and scored well. Then there's also Beyond.
