No real way to disprove it's existence, although, eventually you'd end up with a disgruntled ex-employee who'd let the cat out of the bag.  I don't understand why we're assuming there's a clause anyway, developers (even though the source was anonymous) stated awhile ago that devs may elect for parity to avoid political backlash from Sony/MS or their fans.  Personally, I find that believable.  The backlash can be extreme, but, to actually say such a thing out loud?  Opens up a huge can of worms.

I agree. I know the reactions from alot of PS fans last generation with some of the gimped multiplatform titles. It would have been better for the developers to actually reach a consistent level of quality on both platforms instead of making one version awful. This generation we are talking about some pixels here and there though, not a biggie in my book.

I personally wanted devs to delay launches on the PS3, in order to release a better product.  Things like PS3 Skyrim, should never have happened.  But, I'm also a PC Primary gamer, so delays are something I've gotten used to over the years.

As I said before, though, I think the biggest issue here is the devs actually stating this stuff out loud.  Since it's been done on at least a couple occasions at this point, it adds quotable validity to the conspiracy theories.  Whether the theories are true or not, is irrelevant.  That they've said it, provides people with enough proof.

This gen, I'm just curious why they wouldn't make their engine scale.  Given the architecture is so similar, you'd think an engine that scales between the PS4/XB1 would make sense, and in so doing would allow the PS4 version to excel where it's strengths are and the XB1 version to excel where it's strengths are.  Of course, that's how I thought last gen, so you'd think I would've given up on this curiosity by now hah.

Btw, how do you even prove that a parity clause does NOT exist? Isn´t that the classical "you cannot prove a negative", like "prove there is no god" or "prove the tooth fairy isn´t real"?

I don't think that you have to prove that there is a parity clause.  I think think that you have to prove that the game is not CPU bound as Ubisoft claims.  In this and almost every thread, I have seen people make the claim of "that's not true" or whatever.  I am just saying, if you want everyone to flat out believe that there is a parity clause, show me some technical documents or some actual industry big wigs that would say this is a lie.  Give me a few links, give me something other than "because I say so".  So far, all we have to go by is that the developer says that is how it is.  No proof otherwise.

Like I said in an earlier post, I have looked in countless places throughout the net and many different threads on many websites.  I have yet to see anyone prove anything or even give a compelling argument with a small amount of proof to support that Ubisoft is lying.  With that said, like many others, I still think that hey are lying somehow.  Know this, I will buy the game and enjoy it for what it is.

I would imagine once the PC version ships, they actually should be able to get benchmarks on CPU usage.

Last gen, many titles and developers aimed for parity, or as close as possible, regardless what was possible in each platform.

Now we are in that pathetic and pittyfull pixel counting as the last battleground in the console wars.

It almost appears as an open agenda from Sony supporters as an "PDA service" to make people aware of how evil is Microfsoft with their background parity clauses, and how Sony is pure and good working for the benefit of the true gamers.

In almost one year we have dozens fo games with 1080/900p to show how small that difference is (even XOne exclusive vs PC) and how that doesn´t affect game play or people enjoyment.

Good luck ever seeing a scenario where the hardcore PS fanboy will accept that the technically superior PS4 doesn't provide much if any different gaming experience than the XB1.  Just like it would be hard pressed for most M$ fanboys to admit that the PS4 is more powerful and in some games provides even a subtle improvement in some way.

Until  I start seeing games with significant or even small changes to the gameplay because of the power difference, I will call all of these parity arguments a bunch of BS.  Especially when someone says they won't buy it because they "think" but can't prove that the game was gimped to harm them somehow.

Well Dragon Age is 1080 on PS4 and 900 on Xbone, so I guess this proves parity exists?

The funnier thing will be that the minimum system requirements for the PC game will be much lower than that of the PS4/XB1.  Even with that lower system specs, it will probably somehow run better than the console versions...  But, I agree, we will eventually find out something.

Yeah, Bioware announced it an hour ago or so.

Oops, I saw that and forgot already.  Too bad that only proves that there are apples and oranges.  We alreeady know that the PS4 has had better resolution on multiple titles.  What Ubisoft is claiming is a whole different thing.  My guess is that they will announce that they have got a patch to download at release that will bring the PS4 version to 1080p.  Because "they worked to bring the best version possible to each console" or something similar.

This so much. It seems dumb statements from publishers are in abundance this gen. I as an XBox fan don´t give a crap if my version of a game is at 900p, while the PS4 version is 1080p. But when they go for parity, don´t say it like the guys at UBI did, that´s just stupid.
