Why is VG assuming xone sold every single of the 100,000 xone to customers in China. And why are they adding it to the tally. I remember they could add Sony's officially released sales numbers because they could figure out a way to adjust the numbers to make them add up but for xbox they just assume it sold out everywhere and added the number mysteriously to the total.

I would assume that the system sells out in China just based on the fact that it has been so long since China allowed a console of this nature to be sold.

Then again you completely let out Wii numbers which also have to be considered.

I just wanted to put in some more perspective and it doesn't mean there are no multi console owners there already and there won't be.

But these are numbers we can't be certain of. In the end there is still a great number of potential customers which haven't decided yet (like me ) and the future is not already set and it's good it isn't, for the sake of competition.

Yes, I did leave out wii number and I did that on purpose too. This is because I believe that the wii numbers were casual heavy. People that don't typically buy into console gaming that suddenly got swept in by motion gaming. And the current sale numbers can attest to this theory.

In under a year the PS4 has sold over 10M consoles. Mind you, this is 10M sold at one of the two times in the consoles life that it will sell the least (first and last year). That means in 1 year it has sold 12.5% of the consoles it took 7 years for the PS3 to sell. And this is at a time that all the major games are still cross platform and before any price drops or deals. This is having not even got to its first holiday season.

The WiiU has currently been outsold by the PS4. And it took the PS4 less than a year to do it. That just means that none of those casuals are transitioning over to the wiiU. They have gone somewhere else.

But you are right, theer are still a lot of people that haven't made the jump. I just know that when the time comes for majority of those people to make that jump, they will just buy whatever is the most popular console out there or has the most or best wod of mouth. Its always been like that. Don't see why it should change all of a sudden.

I'm talking about september onwards. Xbox one has been getting lots of praise. Releasing in lots more territories and its exclusives are gaining review traction. The order also getting more bad press. Halo mcc is also gonna move consoles especially in us. I believe Xbox one has been outselling ps4 for a couple weeks already. I know quite a few who recently in the last few weeks upgraded from 360 to one. And some ps4 owners who now also have a one. We will see.

Do you really live on Earth ? Even in the US, it's PS4, check amazon US : http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames/ref=sv_vg_12#1

I don't think thats possible. I thik that 100k units shipped is for the year or six months. Or not then it would be safe to assume that of the 200k sony ships theer in december they will all sell out too? If sony is pointing out that they expect to sell 200k/year in china, I think that should be an indication of just how many consoles they believe they would be selling monthly. But hey, we don't know.

They aren't.

If VGChartz is accurated there is nothing more MS can do to save that region. But it´s hard to belive they will hate the XOne for much longer and with no apparent reason.

I think the DRM fiasco and the initially higher price with a less powerful hardware delivering the worse multiplats did a lot of damage and that's deserved. The first two were solved while the last won't be, but months of bad word of mouth and marketing really killed it.

It's hard to convince the public that your product is better when you expent the first months convincing everyone that it was terrible. It's a matter of public perception right now. Despite that, Sony has a stronger global brand with the PS. During the PS3 years they managed to keep themselves on par with the 360 even with worse multiplats and bad princing. Things reversed this gen and the market followed the trend.

The price cut was the best thing MS did, they eliminated the bigger problem. The ideal of course would be to undercut the PS4 price, but that could backfire (not getting a big boost and now having to deal with losses, investors wanting to spin-off the division with the losses, Sony matching their price, etc).

You are right until we have actual figures from China we don't know.  I assume it sold out just because I assume Chinese gamers are frothing at the mouth and perhaps MS had poor expectations of sales.  I would also expect the 200,000 PS4s to sell out as well.  I'm not a market research guy though, so I have no experience or anything to base this on, file it under gut.  I also assume VGC has some tracking in China to give them an indicator, but who knows there as well.

Adjustments will be interesting.

The rest of the world isn't just China..

I think Xbox one is hugely undertracked. Firstly China alone is over 100k first 24 hours. EU seems way off and US I predict is now already microsofts.

There will be some big changes when Microsoft reveals its shipped numbers. Xbox one will get a big boost on this site then.

If anything it's overtracked here. What you're describing is confirmation bias. I am a PC and Nintendo fan, but PS4 is absolutely crushing it, all you have to do is look at sales charts, Best Buy, Gamestop, and the ever reliable Amazon charts. If NPD comes and shows yet another 2 to 1 US victory, will the last remnants of these unrealistic beliefs die out? I swear it feels like a religious cult to me, these few who consistently have faith in something that is so unlikely and unproven that it defies logic and sanity.

I think people have the expectation that because the 360 did so well in the US last gen that the X1 will do the same.  I wasn't here for the PS3 vs 360 initial offerings but I wouldn't be surprised if people said the said thing back then due to PS2 dominance the generation before.  Problem is the majority of U.S. gamers don't have consistent loyalty to a console brand, regardless of how badly the console specific fans want them to.
