I wonder if they'll be able to hit 1080/60 on Halo

Halo Guardians?

So it's essentially a bizarre version of 900p? :p Well, 0.4% less than 900p, but that's negligible.

What a bizarre resolution...

It's the 1080p version of 900p.

900p with a better PR agent

That doesn't bother me at all to be honest...

Not 1:1 pixel aspect ratio, so rectangular pixel folks, nothing strange.

I'm guessing they were trying to get to at least 1440x1080, but fell bit short of it.

HaloCE campaign: 1080p/60
HaloCEA campaign: 1080p/60
Halo 2 campaign: 1080p/60
Halo 2A campaign: 1328x1080/60
Halo 3 campaign: 1080p/60
Halo 4 campaign: 1080p/60
Halo CE Multi: 1080p/60
Halo 2 Multi: 1080p/60
Halo 2A Multi: 1080p/60
Halo 3 Multi: 1080p/60
Halo 4 Multi: 1080p/60

Here's what H2A is running simultaneously: Two game (graphics) engines - the OG H2 and H2A, and the original audio (music and FX) and completely new music and FX. And the switch is instantaneous. If it weren't running the OG engine it could in theory run at a higher resolution but that's not the intended nature of the project. It's designed to be a remake that lets you switch between the two instantaneously. Now you can feel one way or another about that, but that is indeed the intent.

thanks for posting this.

But how solid is the 60fps? Not worry about the MP because it has bland and empty environments with a few textures repeated everywhere with minimum lighting,.. But how is the framerate on the SP games?

I remember Titanfall being touted as a 60fps shooter too...when it was in fact a uncapped 30fps game as its core as soon as the titans were in the maps.

Remenber that in some levels the uncapped 30fps X360 game had better framerate than the 60fps XB1 game... Those levels were censored by DF, they never published the videos...only one screenshot showing that they had indeed fully done the performance videos.

1328x1080 is a rather strange ratio though. I think they should have keep it at a 16:9 ratio. 1600x900 would look more natural and would be in line with the aspect ration of the other titles in the collection.

Well, they can just scale it differently. At least this way it won't have to be scaled vertically. If it was 1600x900 or something else like that, it would have to be scaled in both directions which would provide more scaling artifacts and probably not look as good.
