It's one thing to knock a game that has bad reviews, but you haven't played it, so your opinion is based completely on reviews. But I find it really ironic (funny, even) that the people who repeatedly keep saying how boring, unimpressive, etc. Destiny (a game with "generally positive reviews") is in every thread....keep playing it. It's not like you can't sell it for $40+ easily online. Or even $38.50 from Gamestop, of all places (if you have Power Up rewards, $35 without). Then you can take that money and put it toward some game you (supposedly) actually like.

But no, keep playing a game you dislike, just so you can tell everyone who enjoys the game just how bad it is. Seems like a completely normal thing to do.

I know if I buy a game and it, to me, turns out to be a turd, I get rid of it. Not keep playing it. I know that that's a far out, crazy idea. But that's just me

All of my games are digital

Yikes. Unless a game is on sale (digitally) or sold out (at retail), I'd never buy it digital. Just for the sake of resale. But that's just personal preference.

But either way, if the game is so flawed and unimpressive, I don't get why you'd continue playing it. I bought Knack when the digital version was on sale from Amazon, cause it was cheap and I thought, hey why not? Game was....uggh. Digital game, so I can't return it. But I don't continue to play it. I don't like the game. I'm not gonna keep intentionally putting myself through experiences I dislike, if only for the sake of "getting my money's worth". Instead of being intent on that, admit it was a "bad buy" and move on. It's a strange phenomena to purposefully do something you don't like.....then complain about the thing you don't like, doing the things that make you dislike it

It was a bad buy. And its what I have to play until Master Chief Collection. And it helps to have friends to play with, which is a widely known fact. Im not going to spend $90 and then just not play.

You're right, and they're constantly compared.  Thanks for proving my point.

LOL yeah I was literally chuckling when I read that silly comment.

And I like how it's suddenly a bad thing to continue playing an unimpressive or flawed game. Hmmm.

It's a bad thing when all you can do is talk about how unimpressive and flawed it is. Seriously, if you don't like the game, why play it? It literally makes no sense. I don't like Justin Bieber. Would it make sense to keep listening to his albums, if only to say "I don't like Justin Bieber"?

It's backwards as hell. "Yea, this game is repetitive. It's unimpressive. The PvP is broken. The reward system is broken. [Insert other complaint]. Let me go ahead and play it some more, so I can keep talking about how much I dislike it" said no logical person, ever.

because like he said, he's on xbox and there aren't any other games to play until mcc comes out.   it's been a very long summer for them.

Nice try of twisting my words. Im not buying any more games until MCC, theres plenty of games to play until then. Its just that from now on im waiting for good deals in retail for the games im not sure about. Preferably Black Friday.  But sure, try to say theres nothing between Destiny and MCC.

I find it incredibly strange when people start ragging on those frustrated by Destiny's flaw with that tired old line "why do you play if you hate it so much?"

It's such a stupid simplification of the actual grievances people have with Destiny. I don't think some of you all understand that we WANT to love the game. We were invested in the vision Bungie and Activision sold us, and they simply did not deliver. The gameplay is incredibly fun. It's everything you'd expect from a Bungie game. It makes you want to play. Unfortunately every single other aspect of the game falls flat on it's face. Social features? What social features? Story? What story? Compelling characters? Maybe the Queen. She's there for all of 20 seconds or so. Loot variety? Nope, everything looks the same aside from exotics. Mission design? Definition of lazy and amateur. End game content? One raid....really? PvP? Don't get me started on all the things wrong with that.

Why the fuck shouldn't people be frustrated and voice their opinions? There was so much potential here. We could have had something absolutely amazing. Instead we got a game that's pretty fun to play, but wont last the year, never mind 10.

I really don't know if this is taking advantage of our character level, I mean I have RARE auto rifle and fusion rifle only, I'm level 27(warlock) and owning everyone including other 28,27, 26 level characters, or I'm really that good ? :D I really don't know.

And of course if I were to voice negative opinions and I had stopped playing, the cries would be "well you didn't play it enough!!". There's no pleasing the defense force. I want to get to level 30, I always try to give games a full chance to capture me. So far Destiny has failed miserably. I can't sell it, I buy my shits digital. murph touched on a big point too, social. I have two little brothers who are playing through the game, they are pretty much the only reason I still care to hit 30. Beat the raid with one of them yesterday, his first time beating it. The other is level 18 and catching up. Which, by the way, is another failure on Destiny's part in comparison to games like Diablo. There's already a very thin line of content in the game. The amount a level 28 guy can do with a level 16-18 guy is very small.

Man....my bad for thinking "This game is so disappointing, frustrating and boring" was grounds for not playing it. It's the same reason I won't touch NBA Live 14 again. But my apologies. I didn't know "I don't like it, so I don't play it" was a "tired old line". Seemed reasonable to me. I just figured, if you've played the game enough (which, at least regarding this thread, LudicrousSpeed and Jlmurph have put time into it) and the only thing you take from it is, as you said "every single other aspect of the game falls flat on it's face. Social features? What social features? Story? What story? Compelling characters? Maybe the Queen. She's there for all of 20 seconds or so. Loot variety? Nope, everything looks the same aside from exotics. Mission design? Definition of lazy and amateur. End game content? One raid....really? PvP? Don't get me started on all the things wrong with that", the logical thing to do would be to stop playing it instead of continue playing it, knowing you're just going to get frustrated. I know I wouldn't continue playing a game if I believed only 5% of the game got done correctly.

And I didn't say you shouldn't voice your opinion. I just said it was backward that all you have to say about the game is negative....but you turn around and put 2-3 more hours that day into the game in the same breath. Driveclub just came out to mediocre reviews. If the only thing you saw me posting was "The driving mechanics are broken, the dynamic weather isn't great, the car models are just ok, there aren't that many maps, it's not as social as they said it should be, etc etc"....you know, all the things that make the game THE GAME, wouldn't you think it's suspicious if I still put 30 hours into the game, even though my only opinion about it is mostly negative? Like I said in a prior post: I bought Knack on the cheap. I didn't like it and I said I didn't like it. So I stopped playing. I didn't proceed to continue to dump time into the game all the while disliking the game.

What you've boiled Destiny down to is that "the shooting is good". But everything that makes Destiny Destiny, you think is bad. Loot, PVP, mission design, raids etc all factor into "gameplay" but you've said these are failures in the game. So clearly this isn't what you're talking about when you say the "gameplay is incredibly fun". You must be talking about how the shooting mechanics (which is something just about every review of the game has praised) are "incredibly fun". Well, excuse me for thinking if you only find the shooting....in a shooter, to be fun, then you probably shouldn't play it anymore. Otherwise, for those same grievances, you'd play just about every FPS.

Eh I've been playing and it doesn't really seem any different than regular control. I'm not winning/losing any more than I usually do.

These 'timed events' are kind of a let down.  The queens wrath was just new bounties on the same content, and I received FIVE helmets, never ended up getting a chest piece :l. It's so annoying to grind strikes to get the same item 5 times in a row (that can't be dismantled for good mats)

Iron banner is just gear matters more in the same modes/maps.  But since everyone is about the same level I don't see much of a difference. I guess I'm doing it to hopefully get a cheap (marks wise) gun?

Might as well get my money's worth. Thought there would be more than what the beta gave since it was supposed to be a server stresser. But no, I should have waited for reviews. Now this is what I have to play until Master Chief Collection comes. But either way yeah, i think i have the right to talk about what I paid for.

No, just get Shadow of Mordor.
