| Angelus said: I find it incredibly strange when people start ragging on those frustrated by Destiny's flaw with that tired old line "why do you play if you hate it so much?" It's such a stupid simplification of the actual grievances people have with Destiny. I don't think some of you all understand that we WANT to love the game. We were invested in the vision Bungie and Activision sold us, and they simply did not deliver. The gameplay is incredibly fun. It's everything you'd expect from a Bungie game. It makes you want to play. Unfortunately every single other aspect of the game falls flat on it's face. Social features? What social features? Story? What story? Compelling characters? Maybe the Queen. She's there for all of 20 seconds or so. Loot variety? Nope, everything looks the same aside from exotics. Mission design? Definition of lazy and amateur. End game content? One raid....really? PvP? Don't get me started on all the things wrong with that. Why the fuck shouldn't people be frustrated and voice their opinions? There was so much potential here. We could have had something absolutely amazing. Instead we got a game that's pretty fun to play, but wont last the year, never mind 10. |
And of course if I were to voice negative opinions and I had stopped playing, the cries would be "well you didn't play it enough!!". There's no pleasing the defense force. I want to get to level 30, I always try to give games a full chance to capture me. So far Destiny has failed miserably. I can't sell it, I buy my shits digital. murph touched on a big point too, social. I have two little brothers who are playing through the game, they are pretty much the only reason I still care to hit 30. Beat the raid with one of them yesterday, his first time beating it. The other is level 18 and catching up. Which, by the way, is another failure on Destiny's part in comparison to games like Diablo. There's already a very thin line of content in the game. The amount a level 28 guy can do with a level 16-18 guy is very small.
