The very reason none of the manufacturers prioritized CPU was because GPU development is moving much faster and that modern games prioritize doing everything on the GPU. Especially in the case of Graphics were using the CPU for rendering is only really acceptable on mobile platforms. If the GPUs have to step in and cover for the CPU, wouldn't that incur a GPU performance hit though?

I think the bigger picture here is that Ubisoft should be ashamed of themselves for putting out a 900p game @ 30 fps when launch ps3 and XB360 games came out at 720p @ 30 fps NINE years ago. How is 900p @ 30fps "tremendous level of quality" that they seemed to have been working on for the past 4 years?
While Ubisoft releases another disappointment, just like watchdogs, all of the other game developers will blow them out of the water.
I can't find the link to the MS/Assassins Creed: Unity marketing deal... I know I seen it but I can't find it... Help me :-p

PS4 with its async compute was engineered so that additional compute load on GPU does not impact too much graphic tasks. Look up that old Cerny's interview on Gamasutra for more thorough explanation....also Sucker Punch tech breakdown of inFamous SS.
Anyway, doesn't really matter, since higher resolution needs more GPU resources, not CPU...and thats's what PS4 has over XOne...basically Ubi guy was full of shit.

Double the power of an x1, so yahh it can handle it. Unless payed not to, i'm sure it cost quite a bit. A simple clause "X1 version must be equal to its competitor "in the contract and we are debating purchased parity and pretending power differences don't exist.
