I disagree. I think it would be more accurate to describe the X1 as 'slightly under powered' and the PS4 as 'slightly above adequate' :p Though i think both are excellent for the price, even the X1. |
I guess it depends what you're comparing them too
Essentially if your thing is graphics, any discrepencies between the two platforms are moot, you should be on a PC!
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
Hang on a minute. Obviously PC is more powerful. But what will stop Ubisoft to do the same to the PC version of the game? You know, like they did to Watch Dogs.
This might set up a new trend for Ubisoft. They will be known as the lazy devs if they keep up with this.
What if its a really great game? Should the talented devs suffer your second hand buying wrath because of the overheads decision? Sometimes I think some of you guys like to complain more than you like to play good games. Im getting this on xbox one but even if I was getting it on ps4 My mind wouldn't be changed as the game has looked great for a long time and a small reso difference isnt' going to change much.

Exactly. Ubisoft loves money. I was saying the same thing about Watchdogs on PC. :)

I think the reason i find it so easy to relate to angry PS fans on this issue is having spent so many years watching the PC being held back by the PS3/360. Seeing Ubisoft attempt to continue that trend just after the PS4/X1 had released? Oh lord, someone hand me a gun. |
I know, right? It's literally the same as last gen on PC, reintroduced this gen on console. So, next gen, devs will be like 8 years behind in actual tech.

It's not a new trend for Ubisoft, at least, not on PC:

They already did with Watch Dogs PC, but PC gamers dont care since they can change that how they want
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m

I disagree with that too
If one of the reasons someone bought a PS4 was to get the most visual bang for their buck, then the PS4/X1 hardware difference is rather significant. In that context the PS4 is like getting an X1 with another 50%(~) free. With that in mind (and my personal experience as a PC gamer during the 7th gen) I can fully understand why those people would be irritated/angry at this stuff. Why should [x] be punished for the mistakes of [y]? That certainly wasn't the case last gen.
Fortunately this stuff hasn't affect me much. I only buy consoles for their exclusives, and in that respect the PS4 has been what i'd expect. Long live 1x1 pixel accuracy.
On a completely unrelated note, i did have a giggle at "We could be running at 100fps if it was just graphics, but because of AI, we're still limited to 30 frames per second." If only there was some magical method of offloading tasks to the GPU. We could call it "GPGPU" :p
I'm cracking up reading some of these comments!
