Forums - Nintendo - If the Nintendo Fusion is another hardcore gaming system, it won't sell more than the Wii U and 3DS combined.

Rarely have I seen such a blatantly fake rumor toted around as the real deal for so long for no reason.

people arent basing it off those "leaked" Fusion specs, they are basing it off of Iwata & Miyamoto's statements which heavily hint at such devices.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Nintendo needs to prioritize issues like 3rd party support and adult gaming market immediately or it will die. There is no chance to succeed in todays market without these major success factors.

Um I don't think Iwata ever said they would do a Fusion just that the next gen would share the same OS more like brothers...still separate systems just easier to develop for cause they both has the same architecture

Doesn't really matter what Nintendo does, OP.

They might win the next round by default because

Sony and MS might not have consoles next gen.

But all Nintendo has to do is release a new box without

a controller.  For like 250.   All the controllers it would ever need is already out including the 3DS.

That new box can play any Nintendo game from inception, including from the portables.

It will be able to stream any game, including next gen games, to either the gamepad or the new 3DS HD.

^ A friend system would have to be in order. Like, 1 account per system - which would stop people from handling their codes so people couldn't play for free. That way an account could be used once on the home console and simultaneously on the handheld.
That way two brothers could share the same game on different devices.

Yeah something like this has to be in place! Playing the same game together on one account, that would rock! Unfortunately, this is Nintendo we're talking about... won't happen

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Never say never!
Nobody thought Nintendo would be so generous with their DLC policy and look at what they are doing.

If they follow the fusion route, they will need some restrictions.
You can't just download the other system's version in multiple HW.

Yeah, Nintendo have handled their DLC in a GREAT way! But as far as unified accounts and everything around that (with friend codes and whatnot), well... let's just say that's not Nintendo's strongest points

It's true that haven't gotten there yet, but if you recall, at the investor meeting in January or February, Iwata spoke about that and how that would be his new notion of platform.
They are going to go that route aswell. There's just no news if it will happen this generation or only in the next generation.

Thing is, we always expect Nintendo to "bring it", and then end up disappointed. This has happened so many times. It's the 8th gen now, and Nintendo have just embraced the Internet on their platforms, and in a way that's left a lot of people wanting. I can only hope they'll step up NEXT gen and mutha effin show us how it's done! Maybe it's time for them to copy Sony (instead of the other way around) and hire help from outside of Japan.

Not living up to your promises gets you that.
But at the same time, Iwata really made a big deal out of this. I don`t think he spent all that time in his presentation for nothing.

Actually, his comments regarding the notion of platform and his other comments of handling both systems as brothers and how they should share software, to point out that he won't let people down on the matter.

Nintendo's main problem has been on the software side, where the no shortages promises have not been met.
In terms of how they handle the HW, i can't recall they promising something and not delivering.

Wii and DS had online play, they just didn't have an online shop and ability to patch/DLC. It is a big deal, but at least we got the most important part.
