I don't want it to die off.
As long as DLC is released first on Xbox One, it will continue being an Xbox series, minor resolution differences be damned.

| Kerotan said: It was a PS2 series before switching to 360 for most of last gen but it's now officially (according to vgchartz) a playstation franchise again! Call of Duty ghosts sales: PS3 - 9.06M Xbox 360 - 8.99M PS4 - 2.67M Xbox One - 2.03M So Sony is winning the last gen and next gen COD battle and without the advertising or exclusive content! So will Sony keep the majority of the COD crowd for Advanced Warfare? It's hard to see how it won't. PS4 has greatly increased it's lead since Ghosts released and will do so even more in 2015. PS3 has sold more than the 360 in the last year but that effect should be minimal. Has the Kings last fort fallen or was that a once off blip? |
If you want to know who's winning, you have to look at install base and adjust for it. Which has a higher attach rate? COD on Xbone? Or COD on PS4?

No, because other franchises actually sell on Playstation consoles. Look at D4. Niche franchises go to Microsoft consoles to die, while in comparison, they thrive and receive sequels on Playstation consoles. *edited.* |
Oh c'mon, you're going to use D4 as an example? lol There's tons of games that have done well on Xbox that aren't a shooter, do niche games typically sell better on Playstation? Yes but do you really think D4 would have been a much bigger success on PS4? I'd say no, despite what people say I think Playstation has been just as much as a shooterbox as Xbox, only Nintendo fans have the right to call a console that. xD

The bottom line is ghosts was bought by more playstation fans than xbox fans. Can't spin that.
Yup, MS marketing deals will have less effect this gen and I for one am glad. Feels like just karma given that MS were the ones that started all the timed exclusivity and marketing stuff. Now it gets to come around and bite them in the behind.
Eventually, there won't be a point for Activision to release timed exclusive DLC for the X1 version anymore because there will be too many sales from the PS4 userbase to miss out on.

Yeah true, but there's nothing to stop those guys buying an xbox one later. It's just plastered in everyones mind that PS4 is a 1080p console while xb1 is somewhat less p's, so for those who have the choice of both, a lot will go for ps4 multiplats.
