It is already in HD on PC.

They could technically redo the character models/backgrounds since modders on PC have done just that.

SE would not be redrawing ANYTHING. Original code and assets are irrelevant as SE will not be using them. Your not one those jokers that think when a remake of FF7 happens it will be exactly like the original but with HD graphics and pre rendered backgrounds n all are you!!!!???

you're an idiot. I said nothing about a remake. I said they could not that they would make an HD version. Please read. The original code and assets are relevant since the HD mods on PC use the original code and assets and modify them. 

I.E. I said they could do an HD version if they wanted to. because PC Mods have done just that. 

But FFX HD, is not a remake. Hell the assets weren't even remade by square. It was done exactly the same way the HD mods for FF7 PC have been done except they were approved by SE. While the FF7 PC mods have not been.

First off, dont call me idiot.

An HD port is pretty impossible, as it would be a complete remake.

So, what the game needs is a remake.

I'd rather see an HD remake but supposedly that would cost a lot of money to do so it may never happen.

By that time it may be too late ... hahaha. SE did say that they want to take on the challenge of restoring the Japanese game indutry. What better way.

I love Final Fantasy but have no interest in a remake of any of them. I enjoy them how they are.

Final Fantasy VII cannot be a possibility unless XV is a success. Square would feel really bad if they couldnt get out of the shadow of that game.

Im up in the air on this one. I think SE would make a ton of money on this game (something they seem to only care about lately...definitely do not care about their beloved franchises or fans) but could potentially lose it all from it also.

Final Fantasy is their most popular franchise and this being the best selling of the bunch makes this the mother of all projects. There is no way they would meet everyone's expectations on this game. This could potentially be it for SE, it could decide their fate. I think it is a risk they do not really want to chance.

FFX was an easier Remaster, FFVII would be a complete Remake. New character models, New Voice Actors (They could go with the same actors from FF Advent Children....but that got its own share of complains on the dub), new City Structures, new Save System, new Cut Scenes, new animations, new programming, etc.... Basically what would stay the same is the story (though Id bet they would "update it"), the dialog (though in some places the rough translation would be fixed) , the Number Systems (Things like HP, DMG, Items and prices, XP, money etc)...I left a few out but you get my drift.

People would also compare FFVII not only to decade + old game, but to other newer RPGs (and in some ways the rise of Western RPGs and their influence on JRPGs)

Would I play the game? Fuck ya. Would it be able to meet my expectations of it? Probably not. In some ways I have a good feeling that the SE of today would destroy the game (why Id rather them not "remake" FFIX or FFVI which are my favorites). This is not the Square of old, who might have been capable of this massive undertaking.

I bought FF X/X-2 HD on Vita day 1. I think that's enough of a statement as to how I feel about FF remakes Right now I'm hoping for FF XII HD on Vita, though the lack of Vita ports of KH HD games makes me worried a bit



Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

A remake of Final Fantasy VII shouldn't even be a thing. This game has been milked dry enough as it is, and I'm not a "Final Fantasy VII hater".
