I would bet money that neither one of those two win any GotY awards. Not because they are gonna suck, but because they have probably run outta things to do by now. I assume they will have a few nice things coming in that respect though. When you think GotY material you need to think about what the title is doing new in comparison to the last version of it. There are other factors of course, but that's what usually seals the deal. Bioshock, Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect, Disaster Day of Crisis, and Lair would be my best bets. If PC games are eligable in this one too than add HL2 Ep 2 because Valve is famous for being some of the very best. There are some things that could improve their chances though. (IE, a really nice fuel truck explosion). The games that are sticking to the basics of what made them great in the first place are the ones that I would kinda be more doubtful on. Which is the case for some Nintendo games as well as 360 and PS3 games. IE, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid Prime 3. That's what I believe anyways.

mass effect----a generic game not on a powerful high end pc, but on x360.

bioshock also on pc and would ofcourse be on ps3 next year. With extremely slow paced and boring gameplay this doesnt come 0% close to HS.

Metroid Prime ...dont know about it but would sell more than Halo3.

Halo3............even IGN has said that the x360 owners would be heavily disappointed with visuals. Did you even look at the graphics. See it on ign/gs before making comment.

there is photorealism with Crysis and KILLZONE 2 (uses at least 50% of ps3's power). This is not last gen where Halo set graphical bar. Compared to Crysis/ KZ ,  halo 3 looks extremely backdated.

Days of cartoonistic Halo 3 is over. Photorealism rules with KZ2 and Crysis.

FF13 if released in 2008( ps3 exclusive ofcourse) and MGS 4 could give HS some strong competition. Lair is  a strong contender for no1 game award too.

The software sales increased significantly due to MO/OB though.so yes MO/OB did increase sales but in terms of softwares.

However Lair and motorstorm/oblivion are not same.

Motorstorm(only possible on ps3) uses 15% of ps3's power.

Lair would use at least 40% . plus Lair is more hyped than Mo and has wayy better graphics including the best water and lighting.

i would go as far as to say that youre making that up... who would say that the ps3 would dominate in april??? or january?? there were no credible games even released that month.. im saying that it will boost sales and not dominate.,.. there is a difference... starting july i think it will boost sales... if you are gonna make stuff up then at least have courtesy to admit it

 No, as fanboyish as StarcraftManiac is (StarcraftManiac, you need to work on your fanboyism, seriously, it gets annoying sometimes), there were many PS3 fans saying that January, or especially March would be the month PS3 turns around and starts dominating.  Games like Motorstorm would supposedly raise PS3 to Wii sales, etc, etc.  It got ridiculous.

 Starting July, sales might get boosted a bit, but if Motorstorm is any indication, it won't be by much.  People who want a PS3 either have one now, or are waiting for MGS4 and FFXIII, not Lair. 

URNotE... You haven't been around for that long... Guys like HUS (Has been banned)... Have been saying that when Gundam Mosou would come out PS3 would crush the competition in Japan... Also...  Heavenly sword was sceduled for Januari at first... And when March domination for PS3 didn't come they said... Shortage at Europe release... April will be the month where it will happen...
