Sigma is going to make an impact in Japan and Europe (more in Japan) where thr Xbox never really sold that well to begin with. It won't do much to sell consoles in the US, though, as the people who wanted to play NG mostly have. Granted, there's so much added to Sigma that it nearly is a new game, but that's easy to forget if you got your fill the first time around. Lair, however, is going to make waves in all regions. Can it overcome the $600 price of entry? Probably not, at least not alone. However, it will bring a noticable boost to all regions and set the system up for a quick follow up by the previously mentioned Heavenly Sword. Between those games, I'd actually expect to see system sales on the rise instead of just being boosted by people buying them for a specific title. However, if they perform below expectations Sony is in something deep. A price cut would have to follow pretty quickly if these games can't shake things up for them.

"Lair won't do squat in Japan. Its a classic, typical title that will (probably) sell well in the US & Europe - but flunk in Japan."
You're right, but the system is doing so badly there that any game with a following will boost sales. Lair will have its fans there, even if it's not a mega hit.
