If they were sold through, we would've already gotten confirmation. However, we didn't. This also contradicts the 116k preorders mymuro claimed about a week or two week ago.

OT: I'm actually kinda disappointed with the X1's launch. I expected a lot more sales, like 250k. 100k in one of the largest markets at launch isn't good enough imo

Actually since this is the first console legally launched in China it was technically the smallest market in the whole world prior to this launch. Very very very far from being a large market.

No offense, but that is a non sequitor. That reasoning just... doesn't follow...

Overall, I disagree. While the vast majority of the population of China may not be able to afford an X1, there are still a lot of consumers out there due the population's sheer size. So technically, China is a large, untapped market.

While you are technically correct, the major obstacles to success are the supremacy of PCs there in combination with the idolization of iPhone and ipad. Those can be shown off as status symbols, while consoles appeal to a minute fragment of society. It would take an absolute miracle for x1 or ps4 to achieve anything more than a symbolic presence in China.

No word yet on whether this is shipped or sold huh? Likely shipped, but good numbers (I think?) either way.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Check #119, unknown.

119 says shipped.

这10万具体是否销售给玩家,并没有得到确认消息。

It could also be sold.

I assume this is shipped because 100k is an unusually round number

The only way for the X1 to be any successful in China, in my opinion, is if it can entrench a reputation as the ultimate MMO machine since that is the type of games China is teeming with. However, that's very unlikely since PC is already there for a long time.

Actually, that logic works perfectly. We judge a market by the amount that is sold there. For example would you consider Nigeria a bigger console market than the UK because it has like treble the population? No you wouldn't. The UK is the bigger market of the two as it sells many many many more consoles.

That's because 1.) the UK has a much larger population, 2.) it's wayy more developed, and 3.) it's an Anglophone country, so no, the logic does not follow.

1. Wrong. UK = 63,742,977 people. Nigeria = 177,155,754 people   source: https://www.cia.gov/index.html

2. Yeah, it is. But overall China isn't very developed at all. Sure it has some very developed cities, but overall it is way behind the console markets that are actually big.

3. Both the UK and Nigeria are Anglophone countries. So what does that have to do with anything?

Yeah I fucked up on the first one >_<

And no, China does not have "some" developed cities. It has a lot of them and the urban population in these cities are really large, too, despite being substantially smaller than the entire city populations.

EDIT: And care to explain this? (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6714129 )

Hopefully MS can keep the ball rolling in China. They need to get the government to approve alot more games, I hear that Halo is popular there so they really need to get Halo: MCC approved for China before it releases. They also need to get more MMO's on Xbox One in China I think. They really need to get with Square Enix and get a port of FF XIV. They also should get Zenimax to make a Chinese port of the Xbox One version of Elder Scrolls Online I think. And they really should try and get a good MMO exclusive on Xbox One.

The bolded is especially important because FFXIV and ESO are also available on PC (though I'm not sure if they're available in China). The problem is that PC has been entrenched as the go to platform for MMOs for years, so it'll be a very hard nut to crack.

He says +- that.

100k is the shipment... 20k for one retailer and 80k for the others.
I have no confirmation these 100k shipments was sold.

In easy words... 100k shipped and nobody knows how much sold to consumers but it obvious less than 100k.

100k = shipment.

Whether these 100k shipments were sold or not, Admin got no confirmation.

So 100k = shipped >= sold, admin didn't rule out the possibility shipped = sold.

Though this so-called info may just be lies/rumors/predictions. IIRC he said XB1 would be region-free in China lmao.
