Forums - Microsoft - XB1: 100k Units Sold in China

A good start but it looks like smoke imo. It better have legs.

Also, no clarification has been made whether this is sold-through or shipped numbers.

Since it's MS we're talking about, it's very likely to be shipped, not sold.

Just wait and see a couple of weeks, and people will forget about Starting Threads about China...

If they were sold, we would've already gotten the confirmation from either MS or the distributor that's responsible for shipping the X1's.

EDIT: We also haven't heard something like "Chinese demand for the X1 is very high and we are actively trying to replenish supply in retailers."

They expect to ship 1 million in first year with the most part of the shipment happening in last quarter of the year... so I believe the 100k first shipment was fine to sell a good amount and have stock in the stores.

If I have to guess I will say maybe 50k sold and 50k on shelves.

It's going to be very difficult to hit that milestone, in my opinion. Remember this post by mymuro? (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6663439 )

According to him, the X1 exceeded 100k preorders with nearly 3 weeks to go before release. But what we saw here is the X1 reaching 100k sales to retailers. So either two things happened. Either that prediction was off or a bunch of consumers cancelled preorders.

100k start isn't bad. the key will be what the sell through is by mid Jan 2015...

It is near the end of the end....

Going by the numerous store pictures of massive lines in a lot of stores, its very reasonable to say its sold to consumers. Ms can easily ship more than 100k to China for launch.

I believe his preorder count is not accurate... I never saw a company giving the numbers in the webstore (mostly give you rankings but not raw numbers).

These 100k preorders was heavily inflated in my opinion.

Those are good numbers but I think MS is nuts if they think they can sell 1 million there this year, if they sold 100k week 1 itll drop to maybe 10k after the launch boom in two weeks or so. Its a nice sales boost specialy since its a market PS4 isnt even selling on but I doubt itll get anywhere near 1 million in 3 months.

Not this year, in one year.

O my bad than. 1 million in 12 months seens reasonable.

Man, you'd think PS4 and Wii U, thee closest bruddas to China, would have tried to gain ground there first. Wow.

The source is anyone who can read Chinese, it's not a mystery. I had a friend who works at ZTE confirm it for me. The Chinese speakers on gaf have said the same thing, and they would be banned if it weren't true. It's not even ambiguous in the least. Jfc.

okay thanks. one guy on neogaf said he can read chinese and its 100k shipped

Check #119, unknown.

119 says shipped.

Yep.

零售 (ling shou) = To retailers
经销 (jing xiao) = To sell or to distribute

Just realised what Chinese characters remind me of: Space Invaders enemies.

I have said 120-150 K after the pre order.
But yeah, good sales... 20K next week probabily.

Okay so it 100k Shipped but what agencies are responsible for reporting actual sold to customers? Did it sell out?
Also, there was no way SMG was going to allow PS4 and Xbox One compete directly because it would cannibalize their own sales. This is the mother of all monopolies so I find it weird that China was trying to hit Microsoft with an anti trust when they clearly allow their own companies to have monopolies.
