Forums - Gaming - Should Nintendo buy Crash Bandicoot?

I have one...very short, memory of him in my childhood PC game.

trees and spinning in one area. Can't remember more.....so basically I have ZERO care for that character. However, I think Nintendo should have Capcom as 2nd party / acquire.

Secured Monster Hunter for ever, exclusive Megaman, Streetfighter, Resident Evil.....

I don't think kids today have any idea who this character is either.

Nintendo should focus on trying to rebuild some of their older brands ... Kid Icarus should have another game and an animated TV series to go with it.

If Nintendo is going to buy a brand popular in 1997 please buy the James Bond IP (which is currenly actually available full stop). That would actually expand their audience.

Yeah but everytime I bought a playstation for since the ps1 I had to buy a nw copy of the Bandicoot to please my past girlfriends/current wife . Now I was going to get a ps tv to play red alert and the bandicoot on, but it turns out, the latter is not available. :/ Them I started to wonder about what could have been if they had pushed the franchise or if it had been owned by Nintendo from about 2001. The CTR/MK crossovers would have been epic.

Because Nintendo's platformer portfolio is a little weak...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Im gonna go ahead and change the title to your thread to be something more accurate against the OP.

Thought it's something legit, but it turns out it's just someone thirsty for games on Nintendo platforms, I don blame you buddy.

Well I do have a PC. You know, one of those boxes that has almost all of the games available on any of the current consoles except the Nintendo platforms + a few thousand more games most of which can remain in my  colletion and be played on my new pc"box or pc"station". But yeah, ok.....

So why would you want to want it to become potentially exclusive and especially block it from the platform where the franchise originated and where the majority of people who loved the original trilogy are?

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Now, you get how the phrasing of this post could be somewhat problematic, right?

Because pretty much everything on the playstation these days is not family friendly. Thus the reason why crash was tossed aside to begin with. As a kid with a PS1, I had lots of kid friendly games that were also brand ambassadors. Now the PS brand ambassadors all kill people.

No, Crash as a character isn't something special, he was basically Poochie from The Simpsons http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Poochie a very 90s thing like Aero the AcroBat or Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel.

Nintendo would rather own Banjo Kazooie.

I agree with Soundwave on Nintendo getting the James Bond license and making cartoons of their games like the one Pokemon has since the late 90s.

And don't you think that having a franchise that is either associated with Playstation or multiplatform wishing to go exclusive to a platform holder that Crash has not much to do, somewhat going for a reaction from the Crash fanbase?

And if you think my post is unfounded, it's not. Check Nintendo fans posts about Capcom aquisition, Crytek falling apart and chances for buying Crytek UK (Free Radical), news about Atlus going to be bought. Nintendo fanbase is the loudest in wishing their favourite manufacturer bought those. And I understand it, especially in case of Wii U, how many retail games did it get this year? It's not weird to want more games for the platform. And I see this thread as one in the same vein.

Nintendo has enough platformers and certainly doesn't need another mascot anyway.

James Bond or licensing for some Marvel properties (The Avengers and Guardians in particular), similar to how the N64 had exclusive Star Wars games, would be far, far smarter moves for Nintendo.
