"Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire are already off to an incredibly strong start in Japan. And no, the two games haven’t even been released yet.

Media Create reports this week that pre-orders for Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire have reached 239,000 units (including Double Packs). That number was reached in just two days, believe it or not.

While Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire aren’t entirely new games, in terms of pre-orders, they’re performing about as well as Pokemon X/Y did nine weeks before release."

It might be, as it seems the 200k was the amount of preorders in 2 days apparently. 

if it does overwhelmed x and y... it means majority of the pokemon players right now are not their target audience... but major part WAS those who enjoyed them as a kid in 1st gen or something....

i love x and y.... but something seems lacking.... am i maturing? :O please dont

if you went by a 1:1k ratio of COMG points to sales, it would be around 400k sales. I don't have any data on past points to sales ratios for Pokemon games, but I highly doubt it is as high as 1:1k...

Wonder if people would be as amazed by this if the franchise was CoD instead of Pokemon, or if they wouldn't rather moan about the destruction of gaming or something. ;)

Don't blow your load, it's not going to happen.

It wont outsell X and Y but it will certainly be another million seller easily
